Races and their new Stats

I'm still hoping there will be some variance to the stat bonuses - for example, dwarves gaining "only" +2 Con and a larger amount of racial abilities than elves. Dwarves are already a powerful race in 3E, and once you take away the Charisma penalty I think you would only need to increase some of the other racial bonuses to balance the new dwarves with the 4E elves.

Huh? I honestly have no idea what your point is. The 4e Elves are incredibly more powerful than 3e base races, and would have at least +1 LA if they were a 3e race. Dwarves need a second stat boost to even have a chance, considering they're already at least two squares slower than elves. (I'm assuming humans have speed 6, and dwarves are slower than humans, thus speed 5 or less. Speed 5 sounds right, though.) Also, I suspect a lot of the weird +2 stone/metal, +x vs goblins, etc will be removed, since it's a lot of rules for fairly little actual impact. Notice how the 4e elf doesn't have +2 vs enchantments. Why? Because it was a minor ability that didn't come up very often and was thus easy to forget.

I also doubt that any race is getting +4 to a single stat, although I'm less sure about this. Still, +2 Con +2 Wis seems okay for dwarves.

Humans speed 6 is what I think too but I saw that elves are 7 and I can see dwarves at 4 or 5. Probably 5.

I don't like this my vision of them is not 'wise' which in D&D terms correlates to perception and will saves. Much better at just +4 CON.

Dragonborn: +2 Str, +2 Wis
Dwarf: +2 Con, +2 Wis
Eladrin: +2 Dex, +2 Int
Elf: +2 Dex, +2 Wis
Half-elf: +2 Cha, some other extra ability
Halfling: +2 Dex, +2 Cha
Human: one +2 anywhere you want, plus an extra racial ability
Tiefling: +2 Str, +2 Cha

Human: +2 Mental, +2 Physical, choose as desired
Elf: +2 Dex, +2 Wis
Eldarin: +2 Dex, +2 Int
Halfling: +4 Dex
Dwarf: +2 Con, +2 Wis
Dragonborn: +2 Str, +2 Cha
Half-Elf: +2 Cha, +2 Physical (choose)
Tiefling: +2 Dex, +2 Cha

Humans are often described in R&C (which I finally broke down and bought) as being fairly willful, so if they get set stats, I would say +2 Str, +2 Wis

Eladrin is likely to be Dex/Int, assuming all races get two bonuses.

[EDIT] Or, I'm an idiot because I forgot they revealed them...

I really don't know what to put for Halflings. Yet another Dex bonus, of course, but no clue as to what else.

Dwarf, Dragonborn, and Half-Elf seem fairly evident to me. Tiefling does too...

Best guesses on skill bonuses:

Code:
Race	Skill Bonuses
Dragonborn	+2 Intimidate, +2 History
Dwarf	+2 Climb, +2 Build

Eladrin	+2 Perception, +2 Arcana
Elf	+2 Perception, +2 Nature
Halfling	+2 Swim, +2 Streetwise
Human	+2 to any two
Tiefling	+2 Occult, +2 Intimidate

Drow	+2 Perception, +2 Dungoneering

I was hoping to see Bonuses to skills be handled like SW saga. Rerolls instead of the +2

I agree, that would be a much better way of handling it. I don't own SWSE but do they have action points in SWSE? Because that could make a difference if they give you a reroll that would be a redundancy.

Agree with +2 Con/Wis for dwarfs... the only alternative as I see it is +2 Str/Con, which would also work IMO...

I suspect that the pattern is going to be a physical bonus and a mental bonus for each race (excepting humans and half-breeds, perhaps.)

A physical/physical boost in attributes skews the whole representation of the race towards martial (small 'm' martial - melee) classes, making one race "the" race to choose.

I hope they dont limit themselves like that. Because what about a 1/2 orc? or a myriad of other races that I can think of.
