Most definitely, I concur, the Scarlet Brotherhood is, in my view, one of the better slaver concepts.

In fact, while still in the Greyhawk vein, I think Slavers! was a 3.0 Greyhawk release, right? Sean K Reynolds did it, if my brain is working right at the moment.

Slavers! was a late 2nd Edition release and a damn good one too! And yeah the Scarlet Brotherhood is one of the best defined slave keeping organisation/nation concepts out there, in part because it is based on a real world example (Nazi Germany).

Also to add to the list, Yuan-ti are known to take and keep slaves both for menial work and to corrupt into their own kind (Tainted Ones, Histachii/Broodguards from Monsters of Faerun).

Bah humaniod slavers are no fun. Now the Neogi and the Illithids, they are fun!

I also encourage the use of a Scarred Lands race, the snake men Assatthi. They often take human slaves and are quite adept in warrior/wizardry combat.
