Races of Faerun feat question

Well, I can't help you out, don't have the book. But as an FYI these questions usually go into the Rules Forum, a little bit of more helpful people there. Good gaming!! :D

I dont have that book or intend to buy it., if I did I would give the bare bones since I do agree it falls in "fair usage".

But still its not "fair usage" to reprint the mechanics under diferent flavor text ...

The FR stuff is not in the SRD, nor is it OGL. And it does not fall under fair use laws. Sorry Iron Chef, I think you're just going to have to pony up. I assure you, the book is worth the price for all the other information as well.

I'm not talking about publishing the mechanics; I just need 'em for my personal use in my game this weekend. It is a great book and one I intend to buy soon, but don't have the cash right now. I far prefer physical books to pdfs and want to support the publisher, not grab pirated stuffm online. I just want this one little piece of info. You guys, well-intentioned that you are, are also overly zealous and incorrect in assuming I can't make a similar feat using similar mechanics. The d20 world is full of them, fan or official. Anyway, that's not the point. I just want to use this feat in my game this weekend. Sheesh!

Perhaps not wrong, but nonetheless illegal. This board in particular has a relationship with WoTC that would make posting such a think a very bad thing. Simply put, employees of WoTC frequent this board, not as spies but as members of our community. Should it become common practice to hand out copywritten material, even when it may seem harmless, there may be repercusions. So I'm sorry, even if I had the book, I would not post the info here. It is by default a form of publication, and not the same as if you came by the house and wrote it down for your character sheet.

Actually it is common practice. Be post the prequites to Prestige classes and feats, and the posting of those abilities is done a lot. Same with full spells. And it doesn't matter if the item is OGL or not, the only way it's legal is to also post the OGL (or something like that).

 I'll just get the information elsewhere, then...

Mods, delete this thread as I have no interest in in it anymore and see it degenerating into an ugly and pointless back and forth I'd rather avoid.

We told you the general gist Iron Chef. Instead of trying to get the specific information illegally, just take the gist and run with it. I'm sure you can make a feat out of the information that's been put forward on this thread.

Uh...so do you guys who carped at the original poster have a problem with Smetzger's periodic "rank this feat" polls? He says what the feats do to remind us so we can vote on them....should WotC sue him for all he's worth?
