Races of Faerun... ummm.. yawn?

I think it looks interesting, especially as I never managed to get Demihumans of the Realms. The book has a lot of potential. In addition, being Forgotten Realms and WotC-published, it falls under my 'auto-buy' cathegory.

Each race entry includes some "specials" for the race, such as unique items, equipment, magic items, spells, or feats, 99% of which is brand new stuff. We didn't add new planetouched varieties, but there are a heap of feats that build on planetouched abilities and improve them (an aasimar who gets to ramp up his light spell-like ability into searing light , for instance).

Actually, one of the things that I think is pretty cool about Races of Faerun is the long section on humans. We've never really delved into the various human ethnicities, their histories, where they are and what they're like, and this book includes a lot of never-before-seen information on the topic.

Regarding the bladesinger, yes, it's the errata version from Tome & Blood.

Is it worth picking up? The most I can do is say, Pick it up off the shelf at your local hobby store, browse the book a bit, and decide if it's right for your game. The book will sell itself, or it won't. If browsing the book leaves you flat, then I won't convince you to buy a book that you don't really want.

Just as long as the content is Realms-specific, I'd buy a copy of Races of Faerun. Of course, it should complement the Monster of Faerun, so try avoid reprinting entire text. Just expand and add new information than what is already have been printed in the earlier supplement.

The Savage Species (formerly titled Tooth & Claw) can be more generic and Greyhawk-specific (that is, if you're still using Greyhawk as D&D 3e default setting).

Ok you got me a little more interested, but I don't have a local shop to look at it (Talon Comics is my local and he is in Texas). One problem I have noticed with The Realms books lately is that they are not "overly advertised" compared to other WoC releases.

Any more info & teasers are welcome.

That is precisely what they are! Very cool stuff - pick up Oathbound and scope it out!!! :)

Thanks, Ashy. I'll have to check that out — that does sound like it could be really cool.

Best,

The most I can say is I'd be on board for that kobold book in a heartbeat. :)

...Maybe I can even convince Two Euros and A Yank to publish it, eh? I mean, after a book about beer, what better can we do than a kobold compendium? :)
