Gnomes

It looks like the gnomes have a pretty small section...we need more info on Gnomes...they’re an untapped resource (no vampire jokes)...

Though, now that I think about it...a vampire gnome...Hmmm

There is nothing here I don't already have in a 2e or 3e book. Where are the Lycanthropes mentioned in old 2e Hall of Heroes?
(...[snip]Weredragons[snip]...)

Weredragons are already in print for 3E. Sort of. Check out Monsters of Faerun. Weredragons = Song Dragons.

Well, they have fewer subraces than the others. I agree, however, that gnomes are underused.

And I am really stoked to play a breachgnome. I always like playing the guy who says, "Go on without me --- I'll hold them off." Especially cool when you are just three feet tall.

Song Dragons are the 2e Dragonweres, dragons that become human. The Weredragons in Hall of Heroes came in Chomatic and Metallic flavors and changed into what would be a Half Dragon template in 3e, but as a Lycanthrope.

Short answer (no pun intended): How would we handle "negative" level adjustments? I guess you could argue that a kobold makes just as good of a spellcaster as a gnome or halfling (they're Small, and they see in the dark), but that -4 Str for a +2 Dex is a little rough.

Seriously, we had to draw the line somewhere, and kobolds just haven't figured in Realmslore as much as other creatures.

Thanks, Ashy. I'll have to check that out — that does sound like it could be really cool.

Small Size
+2 Dex, -4 str.
30ft speed.
+1 Natural armor.
+2 Trapmaking, Search
Light sensitivity
Darkvision
Free Language: Draconic
Favored Class: Sorceror.

Sure, the Light sensitivity is a pain, so the DM Could take that out. But, they make Perfect spellcasters. Fast, Hard to hit (+2 to AC for being small, and having nat Armor), not to mention Dex increase. As well, they can be underestimated *real* easy.

"It's just a Kobold!"
"Say that to my disintegrate."

Man, I wouldn't inflict kobolds on a first-level party. And I think a kobold PC is far too powerful and gamebreaking. For crying out loud, if the tentacle attacks at +28 don't mess things up, the EIGHT arm attacks at +23, as well as a bite for 4d6 damange is a bit gamebreaking. Add in the ink cloud and spell-like abilities, and I think that the kobold needs an ECL of AT LEAST +2 or +3!
