1. Are alle Rakshasa evil or are some good or at least neutral?

2. Whom do Rakshasa worship, were can I find information about their Pantheon?
Is there are group of Rakshasa following another way than the rest of their community (similar to the Drow who worship Ellistrae)?

2. I have read that Rakshasa prefer spellcasting over melee but that some of them are warriors Rukhs.
What is the female form of Rukh?
How does a Rakshasa become a Rukh?

3. How does a Rakshasa succed to attain the status of a (Maha-)Raja?

Rakshasha were given a deity, Ravenna, in an old issue of Dragon.

Ravanna, and he is straight out of Hindu myth so you can do research on him and the actual legends about them. He is a multiheaded deity/king of Rakshasas.

The MM lists them as "Always lawful evil." The "always" qualifier doesn't really mean always though - there are exceptions, but they're certainly less than 1%.

If you look at the top of any page on the site, you will see a menu bar. One of the items is "Support the site!", which has the entry "Community Supporter Accounts." Click on that, and you will be taken to a page where you can buy a community supporter account of varying duration (from 1 month to 3 years), or just a subsection of the community supporter benefits - such as the search function, which can be bought for 3 months or a year. You pay via PayPal, which I'm told can be used without a credit card, but I'm not quite sure how that works.

Though for what it's worth, the Rakshasa of DnD are rather different from the Rakshasa of Indian mythology. They're influenced by and taken from the original myths, but they've split away from it a bit.

1) Yes, they're all naturally evil. Technically as Acheron natives they're all LE with a more potent bias towards L than E. Eberron has its own thing with Rakshasas that is different from the DnD/Planescape take on them which I'm less familiar with, but they're all still evil in any event.

2) Ravenna.

3) Not a clue about the Rukhs. There were some Rakshasa subtypes in the MM3 though, one of them the Nathzarune Rakshasa that are more rogue/fighter types than spellcasters. I've had fun with them.

4) I figure, given their society, it might be a case of caste by way of bloodline or by way of granted ascent by higher nobles or their racial deity. You garner enough personal power or do enough things you might be granted this status.

I always assumed that rukh was just a position in rakshasa society. Give them levels in fighter or eldritch knight. For a more dedicated rukh, the zakya rakshasa in the Eberron Campaign Setting is the "fighter rakshasa" you might be looking for.

And Shemeska, in 3.5, rakshasa are native outsiders according to the Monster Manual. Don't know why, as they've always been Acheron natives in the past.

Demiurge out.
