None of the above. The highest that I've gone was 11th (or was it 12th?) Level, and that was in AD&D 1e after nearly two straight years of play (starting at 3rd Level).

My last 3.5 campaign ended with the party at 22-23rd level. I wish I had planned it to end around 16-17th. In the players opinion, encounters seemed to skyrocket in difficulty after 19th. It was still pretty cool, headaches and all.

-Q.

1e - In our junior high school/Monty Haul days, definitely. Don't think we ever breached that when we switched to playing more straight.
2e - No, I found that little challenged the PCs after 12th level or so.
3e - Yep. One of my most satisfying long term campaigns ran from 1st to 22nd level.

Only in 1e. Like Psion, back in my Monty Haul years. Highest I ever got in 3e was 17th.

We'll see if my current 3e game goes epic.

I'm unsure what the poll is trying to measure since it lacks the crucial 'never played above level 20'. Level 20 is also somewhat arbitrary since it's the decisive turning point only in 3E.

Well, my highest level char ever reached level 9 - that was in AD&D 1st.ed.
For my players it's level 13 in AD&D 2nd.ed. and currently level 12 in 3E.
