Ranger, Paladin, Hexblade ... Define your *own* spellcasting fighter concept

Of course, I forgot the Battle Sorceror variant from UA: cleric BAB, d6 (or d8?) HD, Can cast spells in light armor, simple + 1 martial weapon proficiencies, one less spell from each level he can cast (can drop to 0, in which case he only gets bonus spells).

Seems like a neat class.

A fiction book I was reading recently used the term "philosopher-warrior" which would explain why there are so many different types (I include Monks in this catagory), because there are so many different philosophies

"Balance", "Disiplin", "Honor", "Focus", "Natural", "Purity", "Truth", ect.

Blackguard & Assassin also fit this catagory
