Rant: The WORST way to encourage people to try other games than D&D

ARGH yeah I had to block a few youTubers (DUngeons and Discourse, Dungeon Craft) because they rely WAY too much on the awful YouTube clickbait titles and thumbnails. Had to put them on "mute" or whatever.

Definitely. I've never been a fan of those sorts of videos, but my dislike was particularly exacerbated by hearing that Professor Dungeonmaster (and presumably others) come up with the clickbait title first, and only later on come up with the content.
Yeah, I eventually stopped following his channel because of the clickbait even though his content is usually worthwhile. I will say that he is, at least, up front about it and about how he has to game the algorithm or his videos don't get seen very widely. And, ultimately, that's the fault of youtube's algorithm (as well as the algorithms of most social media) - it distorts, deranges, and is socially toxic (just look at the internet manosphere and where it's going).

I don't think GW have ever hired the Pinkertons, used alleged abusers and conspiracy theorists as consultants, or attempted to back out of binding legal agreements.
I mean, they're British so yeah they'd never hire the Pinkertons, but I'm less certain about the rest of those (they've certainly had some unsavoury characters work for them over the years, and have done "Pray that we do not alter the deal further" stuff a bunch of times), and they've done plenty of their own special stuff, as well as straight up being more obviously greedy and anti-competitive than WotC have ever dared to be (though the OGL 2.0 debacle certainly showed WotC would like to be like that).

Welcome to the RPG community on Reddit. This sentiment dominates the conversation over there and it's so incredibly obnoxious.
And almost every non-D&D related RPG subreddit is infested with people who don't want to tlak about the actual games the sub is about, just complain about D&D. I consider starting a sub for rpgs where mere mention of D&D is banned just to see if we oculd get a healthy conversation this way, sometimes.
