Rant: The WORST way to encourage people to try other games than D&D

Yeah, I eventually stopped following his channel because of the clickbait even though his content is usually worthwhile. I will say that he is, at least, up front about it and about how he has to game the algorithm or his videos don't get seen very widely. And, ultimately, that's the fault of youtube's algorithm (as well as the algorithms of most social media) - it distorts, deranges, and is socially toxic (just look at the internet manosphere and where it's going).
Oh yeah, he had some solid ideas. But I got really tired of the constant clickbait titles. I think a lot of streamers do end up victims of YouTube's algorithm, especially the people that make it their entire or partial living, chasing what gets them the most likes and clicks.

Dungeons and Discourse, I think. She never gets to the point until 3/4 into the video and it always tends to be depressing rather than funny.

She was on Roll for Combat as a guest and I thought she was nice and smart and very, very aware that she's awful and a D&D doom and gloomer in order to get an audience and serve the YT algorithm.

I appreciated her take but I can't stand the cynicism. I unsubbed from her a long while back.

Its funny, I've never seen any such videos - why do you watch them?
I’d be up for actually well-done critiques of D&D, and of other RPGs - it’s not like any of them is above all criticism. And every so often I’m on the edge of the news and wanting a fuller explanation of what the current controversy may be. And like that.

I’ve just learned more warning signs that a particular video or video maker won’t give me what I want, so they’re an ever-smaller fraction of my recommendations.

I have seen on Internet few bad ways people try to encourage D&D fans to try other games. Goin on a "please try another game" rant without naming a single one, so your post is just complaining about D&D or its players is one.
Ugh, I know the type. It's just a weird premise to begin with.

Let people enjoy things, geez.

There is some Irish TTRGP influencer that pops on YouTube with D&D doom all the time. I watched 1-2 of her vids and they just seem designed to make you angry.
She's absolutely delightful to watch... if you get the humor of it. But there's one truth in her vids: her content certainly leads to demonitization...

I'd like to see her report on some other IPs, tho'... I enjoy the hysterical gloom and doom she presents.
