10, because the second viewing seemed to fly by even faster than the first. Since I'd had less than 2 hours of sleep between the showings (Tuesday midnight and Wed. 10 a.m.), I was fearful of dozing off or being bored the second time around. I guess the 48 oz Pepsi was worth it! :D

The quicker cutting between stories helps a lot. Especially compared to TT, where there were long stretches between the different story lines. And as they got closer to Mount Doom, the stories switched more frequently (as least it seemed so to me).

And Peter Jackson left out the stupidest part of the entire book. Yay!
Frodo and Sam get mistaken for orcs. Given the look of the films and the extreme orc make-up, there's no way that would have been believable! :)

Yes, but I really go the impression that something was missing there; probably cut out. It almost comes across as a continuity error when they later do appear in their clothes. It's possible that that will show up yet again (with the "Where There's a Whip There's a Way" along with it?)

Yeah, I miss that. Orcs singing on the battlefield would have made the movie even better.

Definitely a 10. I was a little skeptical during the first 20 minutes or so, but shortly after I was blubbering like a baby throughout the rest of the movie.

Yeah, I'm a geek.

I rated a 9 -- it would've been 10, but again my poor backside couldn't handle the total running time.

Getting an aisle seat next time to stretch out periodically,

I totally spaced on the clothing change! You're right, something is missing and we'll get some goodies on the DVD next November.....
