Rathunt [Knight Otu judging]

Gogsmol glares back."Yes, there was something on the body. I would have thought the guards were there to ensure the item was properly recovered. As for the body in question, it is merely the corpse of a thief. I shall arrange to have it dumped into the waters," the merchant says. "I shall pay you for the rat-killing, and that be it. Let me fetch my pouch," he says. The bouncer-guard tries to look disinterested, but he's quite evidently catching every word and standing close to Gogsmol.

Borkel Hardknuckles, dwarven monk

When he hears about the fate that Gogsmol envisions for the corpse, Borkel's blood starts to boil and he clenches his fists. He manages to maintain his calm though, rememering that he is in a foreign society from which he knows little. He stares angrily at Gogsmol, and says:

"Since you are so ... unrespectful towards your fellow citizens, I will take this matter into my own hands. I will find a spiritual organization and arrange for the body to be properly honored in burial. And know that I will report your inconsiderate behavior to whoever is in charge of such affairs in this town. The authority will certainly not be pleased when they hear that an unscrupulous merchant keeps dangerous monsters and dead bodies in his warehouse."

Tumna isn't really fazed by what Gogsmol intends to do with the corpse, and even then she's more amazed that the merchant actually bothers to get the corpse further than the closest alley. But that they're being denied compensation for the dead critter she isn't accepting. She goes to stand before Gogsmol, putting her face right in front of the man and glaring into his eyes.
"Now you listen..." she says with a slow and threatening voice, "you compensate us for that thing, or else..."
She pauses for a moment for effect. "...I'll undo the scrambling I did to the creature's mind."

OoC: Of course, she can't really do that, but ol' Gogsie doesn't know that :)

Eddy waits for Gogsmol to return with his pouch, then shrugs and says, "Well, if you will not pay for the creature in your warehouse being dead, then I suppose I'll just go return him to life. Makes no difference to me, but I see no reason for a human wart such as yourself to benifit from our extra hard work for nothing."

HA! :p Tumna and Eddy think alike! (and post at almost exactly the same time!) I don't guess I'll bother with my threat, then, if hers works!

The merchant is unfazed by the intimidations. "Some creature in the warehouse? Hah. If so it must have a taste for rotted fruit. I had just assumed that they were rats." He turns to Lul. "So where is Bru? Answer me if you want your children to eat tonight, or the next week."

The guard at the Ogre comes a bit closer. He has hulking arms, and one of them is firmly upon his broadsword. "Everything ok here Gogs?"

Borkel Hardknuckles, dwarven monk

Borkel remains silent, also waiting for Lul's answer. Sensing that the situation could degenrate, Borkel slowly moves to a strategic position so that he could easily flank the bodyguard with Eddy, if the large bully decides to attack.

"He's probably back at his place, or maybe the Red Dragon," says Lul.

Gogsmol turns to you. "So why did he wander off like that? Anyway, I'll pay you for getting rid of the rats and this shall conclude our business, though I am disappointed."

Eddy glares at Gogsmol. "You're disappointed?! Sir, were we at sea, you would be keelhauled for your treatment of hirelings. I'm sure you care not for such, but may Shurassa swallow your children one day for your gluteonous proliferation of injustice. Pay us, then, yon sweaty and fattened living lump of filth, and may a pox fall upon you and yours."
