Ray of Enfeeblement?

Ah, there it is. Just kept missing it. Here's the quote...

"A critical hit with an energy-draining spell inflicts twice the listed amount; for example a critical hit with an enervation spell bestows 2d4 negative levels."

That's the one I was thinking of, all right :)

What I was saying is that a crit with an energy drain hits a chakra, a crit with a damaging attack hits a physical weak spot. Of course, in this example they are both the throat. :)

I'm not sure. Critical hits multiple damage, do they multiply penalties?
Penalties aren't multiplied on a critical, as others have pointed out.

And you can be critically energy drained which is more a penalty than damage. So probably yes.
You could be critically drained in 3.0. I don't believe negative levels are classified as "damage" in 3.5 anymore. No more critical level drains.

Energy drain special attacks still deal double negative levels on a critical in 3.5, for what it's worth...

So since spells that reduce your to hit, saves and bonuses dont usually stack as posted elsewhere in this thread doest that mean you can only hit someone with one enervation or energy drain (or at least if you hit them with multiples only the one doing the most drainage is what effects the target)?

No, you're not applying a penalty ith your spell, you're inflicting negativ levels. The negative levels are applying a penalty, and they stack with themselves.
