I think that +2 levels is balanced. Consider the Spell Specialization feat from Tome and Blood. With Reach Spell, the spell is effectively a ray, so it can be Splitted, is subject to Spell Specialization, Weapon Focus (Ray), and so on.
Also consider that for example, Reached Vampiric Touch is 5th level, and not 4th level, it seems a little overpowered at fourth level, at least to me.

Well thats if it is a ray and if your DM allows that and then your looking at Spell slots of like +4-6. Ooooooo I just healed my whole party for 1d8+5 for a 7th lvl spell.

What you mean I could have cast Mass Heal for that? Ops

Not worth it. I could see +1 spell slot. I mean you still have to hit the target even a ally

I think the feat is more useful for mages then clerics. Clerics usually have a spell 2 levels higher that does the same thing only better. Mages do too, sometimes. But mages have less access to spells then clerics.

Forget about the Split, but think of the Vampiric Touch with reach, or if the DM allows, suddenly there are a lot more of possibilities for guys who take Weapon Focus (ray) and Spell Specialization (those two don't affect spell level). If it was a mere +1 spell level, consider for example, Reached Shocking Grasp as a mere 2nd level spell that not only has now a reach of 30', but it gives you an additional +3 to the attack roll against metal equipped people. And that is without considering the effects of Weapon Focus, Spell Specialization or even Point Blank Shot. Consider too, Chill Touch, which have multiple uses in a single casting.

I think it is better balanced at +2 levels.

True

but the feat is from DEFENDERS OF THE FAITH!!!!!!!!

Not Tome and Blood.

Its made for Palidens and Clerics. NOt Sor or Wiz.

I see this as a big problem.

It's printed in the book for paladins and clerics, it's not made for them. It was probably put there because, and I have by no means counted, that clerics have more touch spells then wizards.

But since the spell can be used by anyone with magical abilites, I think they had to balance it for all classes.

EDIT: And how is that a problem anyway? The feat isn't too powerful. Maybe, as has been said it's underpowered a bit, but that doesn't mean theirs a problem with it. I perfer underpowered to overpower.

The designers made a cioncious decision not to limit the class books to the classes they cover, but to make it most useful for those classes. Thus, few of the prestige classes (for example) require a certain class, though some make it easier than others. There are obvious exceptions, but they're just that.

Reach Spell is for all casters, not just clerics and paladins.

Back on topic.

Has anyone used this feat and how useful was it at the +2 spell slot?

If it was with a Cleric that would be even better.

If it was put in a Pally/Cleric book I would think they should best use it but it sems its best used for Soc/Wiz and not worth it for Cleric let alown Pallys.

I would sugest +1 spell slot and Divine spells only.
