I didn't start it at all. My first post to him was argumentative, yet friendly. He decided to behave like a jackass and bite my head off. I'm responding in kind. I don't take that kind of crap from anybody, not even him, and I apologize when I pull that kind of crap off on other people.

No. I just don't back down when someone bites my head off. Caliban set the stage for hostility in his reply to me. If you have a problem with it, like I do, take it up with him (or just wait 20 minutes or so and it'll pass on it's own).

Of course, so long as you people keep replying to this crap, it won't ever die. Just keep that in mind.

You made a huge leap in your reply to me (saying I was banning scroll use for all 1st level casters) when I did absolutely nothing of the kind.

I called your reply what it was, a straw man arguement, and then you started getting personal and accusing me of "jumping to conclusions" when I very plainly had not. You did. Thus, you were a hypocrite.

Then you started complaining that I ws being mean to you, and so I called you on it.

If you don't like it, don't attack me and then try to saying "it was all a joke, really! Stop being mean to me. Wah!!"

I'm not upset, I'm just not in the mood for this type of crap, especially from you. I don't have as much time to post as I used to.

5) dcollins' find of the Caster's Shield reinforces that somatic components are required for scrolls since the Caster's Shield allows casting of a scribed spell "with no chance of arcane spell failure due to the shield".

I really don't see where it does. A caster's shield has other advantages over a normal scroll. 1/2 material costs is a biggie, its worth the extra 2,000gp by it self. Plus, you never have to dig around for that scroll of gaseous form, invisibiliity or teleport. Note that in the description of the item, 80% of the spells scribed on it are divine spells which don't have a spell failure chance anyway.

At this point, who started it is irrelevant, as you've both broken the Golden Rule - do unto others as you'd have them do unto you. If you don't want the other guy to be snarky, don't rise to the challenge, ignore the slights. If you want an apology from the other guy, offer one yourself.
