Real Life Stats

Obviously the problem with statting ourselves is that some of us will seem to rate ourselves too high, others two low... which is why it'd be an interesting exercise to get some quantifiable ways to rate stats. Str is taken care of by max overhead lift (not bench press!) and Con by various endurance tests. I know even these are flawed tests by nature, but lets propose some equally flawed ones for the other stats.

Int might be covered by IQ, despite suspicions of IQ ratings. Wis? Are there any general perception tests utilized by the military, perferrably before any serious training? Dex might be covered in such tests as sprinting, flexiblity, and aim... Charisma's a tough one. I think we've all know some pompous people who at the least thought that the rest of us weren't quietly hating them... and then there are the quiet ones that have a real forcefulness of personality and are looked up to by everyone who knows them, even if they aren't running around bending people to their will.

Oh, and could someone post the bell-curve distribution of stats so we have more than 18= 1/216 to go on?

 5 6 2.77 10 .77
 6	10 4.63 21 1.62
 7	15 6.94 38 2.93
 8	21 9.72 62 4.78
 9	25	11.57 91 7.02
10	27	12.50 122 9.41
11	27	12.50 148	11.42

15	10 4.63 131	10.11
16 6 2.77 94 7.25
17 3 1.38 54 4.17
18 1 .46 21 1.62

3d6 is out of 216, 4d6 drop 1 is out of 1296.

I'm a fifteen-point buy...but I'm 19th level.

PH34R ME!!!!1111!!w00+!!!11!

Way back in the day I spent a lot of time in the ocean, and if we were to use breath-hold to derive my CON stat, at that time my score would be 20-23...which is offered as an example not of my amazing ability to turn really, really blue but rather how utterly pointless this whole exercise truly is... :)

At the risk of being mean and petty....

Oh really?

On the other hand, when people claim to have an I.Q. of 160+ I view that with skepticism. Online tests tend to give out a little higher scores... especially if they want you to buy something.

I tend to think that everybody is equal. That doesn't mean eveyone has the same point buy with D&D stats. Oh no! People just usally have things that will balance them out. I mean... to me, typically the smarter people are less happy or less well adjusted. (Broad generalization) Ignorance is bliss anyone?
