HOW IN ORCUSES NAME DID THE PARTY SURVIVE ALL THREE LEVELS OF RAPAN ATHUK
GFL OUT

While I seldom agree with somone who types all in caps he does have a point... your heroes, to have succeeded, must have done the following.

First Temple of Orcus:EL 15
Second Temple of Orcus:EL 16
Third Temple of Orcus: EL 20

Orcus himself:EL 22-30 depending on how many temples your destroyed...

I have yet to meet a party that I thought was actually up to going through all 15 levels of that hell hole without serious GM help.

Epic Level?

Why we are on the subject of High lvl Adventures, does anyone know if any good Epic Lvl adventures have been published?

I run a EL22 party, and have some material from 2 Dungeon magazines, but haven't seen anything else. This RAPAN ATHUK looks interesting - I bet the final most challening part could be run on its own....no?

I agree with the poster above about creating your own, but its nice to flesh out an extant plot line too.

I recommend the 2e classic Return to the Tomb of Horrors; if you have the boxed set and you're enough of a bastard to use it on your party I could happily send you my conversion notes.

If you dont mind, I would love a copy of your conversion notes..
Would love to try that on my PC's.

TIA!

There are some good high-level adventures in Dungeon Mag. The Harrowing (Dungeon #84) could make a good follow-up to CotSQ

I ran Demonblade from Dungeon #97, you'd probablly need to pump up the baddies for 7 16th level characters though

Demon God's Fane (a Malhavoc print by Monte Cook) is pretty good, though it would need to be scaled up for your PCs.

I also suggest Demon God's Fane as a possibility. I ran this for a group of 7 14th level characters for a one-shot. It was quite challenging for that group. Monte Cook has some suggestions on his forums for ways to beef it up for higher level characters as well.

I found Rappan athuk also very good. In our campiagn after we went through the standard adventures path series until we reached the standing stone. Afterwards we went into rappan athuk. Our paladin was cursed, but st cuthbert turned it into quest to kill Orcus. We went through the first temple then took a little detour to pick up a sword, The paladin nearly slaugthered his own temple. Murdered out the demon god`s fane for some extra questtime, destroyed the lord of the iron fortress in our vacation time. (One pitfiend, one blow, one dead pitfiend. Yes the paladin loved his demonslaying holyavenger), we missed the second temple and we were stopped at the third temple. But my 11th level wizard still lives because of a teleportspell. But we stopped the campaign. The paladin/hunter of the dead had a kill list of 4 pages with minor undead alone numbering in the 100s.
I highly recommend them all.
