Red Wizard PrC

I recently bought FRCS (where have I been?!?) and looked at the Red Wizard. On the surface, it looks like it sucks, but damn, what a save dc. A self respecting RW of 7th level and 18 intelligence can get a DC of 23 on a 4th level spell (+4 Int, +4 Spell Level; +1 Tattoo Focus; +4 Greater Spell Focus; +1 Spell Power.)

The class also works as a bridge to the Archmage PrC.

Any of the Gents know any RW combos?

(That was the longest praise I have ever given a Mages of the Beach product):D

Yes. An enchanter or necromancer that starts out with spell casting prodigy and tattoo focus, and takes shadow weave magic at third and empower spell at fifth (with his wizard bonus feat) can take a level of shadow adept gaining 3 metamagic feats and allowing him to qualify for red wizard status. Then with four levels of red wizard, two intelligence increases, spell focus and greater spell focus in his chosen school, and a +6 headband of intellect with some of his money can have an effective spellcasting intelligence of 28 and a 5th level spell DC of...

10 (base) + 5 (spell level) + 9 (effective intelligence) + 1 (shadow weave magic) + 1 (tatoo focus) + 4 (greater spell focus) + 2 (spell power) = 32...

If he *is* an enchanter and he casts Feeblemind against a spellcaster of some sort, the DC increases to 36.

Then you can continue building to Archmage for more spell power, advance in red wizard for more limited spell power, or advance in shadow adept for yet more spell power.
