Oops, I see that we've already started (late to the ball game). I'll post soon.

Ok, guys, if you go look in the IC thread you'll see it's time for our heroes to start sweating a bit. Don't pull your punches or this might get quite dangerous!
Also, regarding the battle grid, i'll try to find a better solution later, but for now this should do its job.

Roll everythin on invisiblecastle.com. Try to respect the initiative count, if you can't post later, please post intended actions (you may then edit them if the situation changes significantly).

Have fun.

Ok, I'm waiting for initiative order to keep my mind and actions straight-- less confusion.
Do you want us to do all of our rolls or will you roll for our attacks etc?

Just wanted to drag this here so it did not clutter up the IC thread. When the combat is over could you tell me how he avoided being prone and kept his horse up from an AoE that would of knocked them both over? I love playing mounted Characters and would love to know what feat/ability combo's you use to create this guy. I am impressed!

Here's an OOC combat note:
If you burn an action point for an attack you get +4 to that attack roll because of my build.
also, stick close to me in combat or close to an enemy so i can shift you around for CA ;)

geogator: to be honest, i didn't use a full-developed rule, i would have done it in 3.5, but monster creation is much more free, it seems to me, in 4e than before. Basically, i took a hobgoblin soldier and put it on a riding horse. Now, you will notice that riding horses don't offer special advantages as mounts, and that i didn't make the horse attack. What i did is basically give the horse a benefit similar to "ride-by attack" and rule that a skilled rider can help his mount with a move action in various ways. I know the rules don't allow this, but I didn't feel it is too unbalancing. Obviously, the guy is worth more than tthe xp of the two monsters in the MM. Maybe my answer disappointed you, but if someone's interested in mounts i can think about some houserule...

Is: I completely forgot about that. Meriadeth's attack'll hit. I'llo go fix it.

Move Action - as an Immediate Action to negate Knock Down
Move Action - as an immediate Action to negate the horse being knocked down
Standard Action - Attack
Move Action - To ready potion
Minor Action - Drink potion
Move Action - move the horse 9 squares (the first square is in difficult terrain due to Icy Terrain)

Mounted Combat Rules say that a mount and rider share one set of actions. You used 4 Move Actions, 1 Standard, and 1 Minor. According to the rules the sequence should of went like this...

Horse is knocked prone, Rider is dismounted and within 1 square of the horse, Rider if still in the effect of Icy Terrain is knocked prone, Then at the start of his action he could have 1 move, 1 standard, and 1 minor action. Further more, there is no Ride-by-attack unless specifically given by the mount in their data and usable only if the rider has the feat mounted combat. Spring Attack is also gone as far as I can tell. So even after the knock down save, The mount incurred an Attack of Opportunity that Isdar should of been able to choose to take against either the horse or rider.
4e significantly reduced the effectiveness of mounted combat by reducing the contribution of the mount to the combat. I am a firm believer in the idea of "all mistakes are final" and you are more than welcome to abdicate the rules in your game the way you see fit so I am not pointing this out to change anything. I just want you to realize that this NPC's actions were outside of the rules by a lot so that we can have a baseline of how to handle the situation further.
