Referencial names for Warforged

Mythological names:
Prometheus- Titan who created human beings
Pygmalion- sculptor and lover of Galatea, a statue of impossible beauty
Galatea- creation of Pygmalion, brought to life by the gods
Talos- manlike bronze creation of Hephaestos, capable of heating his body to temperatures that would destroy a mortal (Hephaestos created a number of metal 'creatures', including servants of gold and silver to help him walk, Athena's pet metal owl, and animate tripod tables).

Also, "Rossum" (from R.U.R.) seems an excellent name, don't you think?

R. Daneel Olivaw -- from various Asimov books. There's lots of other robot names, but Olivaw is the most important robots, appearing in both the Lij Bayleh cycle and the Foundation cycle.
R. Giskard Reventlov -- first telepathic robot, same cycles.
Roj Sarton -- human after which Olivaw's aspect was modelled.
Susan Calvin -- also human, the famous robotician from the Robots cycles.

Gez, thanks for those- I can't believe I forgot those, I just finished the novels 2 weeks ago.

One thing puzzles me, though.
Wasn't there a short story called "I, Robot?" If so, which of his books contained it?

I, Robot is a book containing a collection of short stories about robots & the 3 Laws. The stories are somewhat sequential and are presented in such a way to show the "evolution" of robotics. The stories were originally published individually in pulp magazines during the 40's.

Just as an aside, I'm planning to play a Warforged Paladin (paladinbot reference fully intended) when my friend starts his Eberron campaign. His basic personality template would be Optimus Prime meets Daneel Olivaw meets Andrew Martin.

Warforged Spy - Hymie (sp) from Get Smart
Warforged Whore - Cherry pleasurebot from Cherry 2000
Warforged Cop - Alex Murphy the Robocop
Hal - the computer come on you know....
Holly - the computer on Red Dwarf and
Rimmer - maybe although he's actually a hologram...

Roy, Pris and Leon from Blade Runner don't count IMO - they were replicants (i.e. clones) not robots. But then warforged aren't robots are they? They're golems. In which case...

Adam - Frankensteins monster

back to robots...
Gigantor - 1960's(?) anime
Stella, Alice, Herman, Norman - androids from "I, Mudd" on Star Trek
