Ooh, the Red Menace, the communist robot built in the 70s to, like, assassinate the head of the US Postal Service or something. From The Tick tv show.

Ahh, forgot about that one. It was programmed to kill President Jimmy Carter.

Petra, automaton wench at the Blue Boar Inn of Moonshade, in Ultima 7 - The Serpent Isle.
Isstanar, automaton warrior and commander of the keep Order's Fang in The Silver Seed part of the same game.

Automatons in U7 were soulless and unable to learn, but it was possible to use magic akin to magic jar to transfer your own soul and mind to one. Then you just had to destroy your old body to be sure your soul would not go back to it, and pronto, you had eternal life.

Following the thread of others' thoughts, there's always Molloch the Corruptor from Buffy [Episode - I Robot, You Jane] (admittedly a demon, but he did build himself a robot body).
Also, from a Red Dwarf novel (can't remember which one) there are Pizzak'rapp and Maid'n Ty-One (I apologise for the spelling - it's been a long time since I read it!)

From a japanese anime of 1972-74:

Mazinger Z (Spanish), Mazinga Z (Japanese) or Tranzor Z (English)
Also from the same series:
Afrodita A (Aphrodite A)
Boss Borot
Diana A
Minerva-X
Gumbina M5
Yubrin T9

*Metal Gear Rex and Metal Gear Ray from the Metal Gear game series. (Like the best games ever made concerning story imho.)
*All the A.I.'s featured in the Space Above and Beyond series. (It's kinda of a seperate race there.)
*EVA from the Command and Conquer game series.
*The T-1000 and the last T-X terminatrix from the other 2 terminator movies.
*"The Machine" and his machine race of A.I.'s from the Matrix movies.
*General Grievious from the Clone Wars TV series.

Hmm I don't believe the Dune and Babylon 5 series featured any robots but I might be wrong. There are more but my min stopped at the moment.

EDIT: Oh and any we missed can most likely be found here :p

Personally I think that the replicants/androids are a much better parallel to the Warforged than most of the other examples. They are a vehicle for exploring what it really means to be (and not to be) "human". Heck both were created for almost the exact same purpose.
I guess you're right about the replicant "origins", it's just that I've NEVER thought of them as anything other than effective clones. Probably mostly because of the conversations between Roy, Tyrell, and I think a bit with JF Sebastion, which all seemed to be technobabble about overcoming problems of cloning techniques and less about raw manufacture of complex organic structure. I think when I first saw it I simply wasn't paying attention and got it fixed in my head that way.
