Resistance

Does a creature's energy resistance apply to each attack? or just per round.

For example, if X has Fire resistance 10, and gets hit by a flaming weapon for 5 fire damage, then a fireball for 20 damage- does it subtract 10 from each attack? or does each attack stack toward overcoming the resistance? So 15 fire damage, or 10 fire damage in the above scenario?

Seems pretty explicit.
but...

"A creature with resistance to energy has the ability (usually extraordinary) to ignore some damage of a certain type each round, but it does not have total immunity."

I prefer the first quote.

In 3E, it was once per round. In 3.5, it's once per attack.
