Restore the Bridge of the Starship Enterprise

For reasons that befuddle me, Paramount took a replica set for the USS Enterprise-D bridge (the original having been destroyed in the filming of Star Trek: Generations), and tossed it out, into an alley.

Some fans have noticed, and have set up a project to restore it, with a few improvements (modern, interactive computer screens instead of backlit plexiglass, for example).

OTOH, allowing hoboes to camp out on the bridge could be seen as perpetual homage to The Way to Eden...

This is further proof that Paramount does not know how to handle the Star Trek property.

Tossing Star Trek artifacts into the alley is beyond stupid. At the simplest, anything Trek is worth money. Every one down the chain from the decision maker to the actual guys hauling it out should have known its value. A few calls and a truck to "catch" the garbage could have been arranged or an auction house would have saved some damage.

Good thing these guys found it.
