Return of the 2-Bladed Sword! (and an Adv. Vault preview)

One thing I really like about these magical weapons is that they can be made non-magical very easily, by simply how you describe it.

Assassin’s Weapon: The blade is coated in poison, or has a small glass vial of poison embedded within the blade that can shatter upon impact.

Gambler’s Weapon: Those that use this blade are likely to take chances in combat. (Essentially using weapon abilities as a way to describe the actions of the character not the weapon).

Opportunistic Weapon: Those that use this blade can see opportunities whenever they present themselves. (Essentially using weapon abilities as a way to describe the actions of the character not the weapon).

Thieving Weapon:
With a quick slash of your weapon you manage to cut lose or distract your opponent so you can steal away from them. (Essentially using weapon abilities as a way to describe the actions of the character not the weapon).

Frankly, I don't care if they come up with the most geometrically weird weapons possible, as long as they are fun and people like them. If you want to deny certain weapons because it doesn't fit your campaign, then no problem.

I seccond this... In a game with flying giant lizards, and guys lofting magic left and right- realism should not trump fun.

Do those that think two bladed swords being ridiculous have a problem with Darth Maul?
Yeah. Double bladed lightsaber would probably see you cutting off your own arms in two seconds. It only works in Star Wars because Darth Maul is a Force user. With real blades and no Force, there will be blood.

*Shrug* There have been RL weapons that you could describe as 'double' weapons. They might not have been that effective, and DND's version might have exagerated an aspect or two of it (THe entire 'use both sides at once aspect' for instance, or just how they look in general), but they existed, so why not put em in if anyone wants em?
