Return of the King delay

Has anyone else heard that RotK might be delayed due to special effects editing? One of my wife's friends says that she's heard it from "reliable sources". I don't want to doubt her, but I haven't seen anything along these lines.

Haven't heard anything but it seems a little early to be making such a call as that. It's still a long way off from release and I doubt they want to miss the holiday deadline if they can help it.

Those rumors were debunked about a month ago. I haven't heard anything new since.

I do know that the workload on RoTK and the TTT Extended DVD being high was the reason that they decided not to put a preview at the end of TTT like they did for FoTR.

Wow, after reading that link, I can't believe they are that far behind. I wonder how much the quality of the film will suffer? Will they cut the length or just use less digital effect and detail.

every film was running way late due to effects. people at weta (the only reliable source i can think of) are always complaining about how they don't have enough time, they work to hard, and its never goign to be any good.

obviously they were wrong twice, so i don't see any reason for them not to be wrong this time.

I can say this because up until a year ago, i lived in wellington, home of Weta, PJ and LotR. it seemed like half the peopel i knew were working on the film, almost all in the digital effects section.
