It's the lazy eye that gets them all the time (haha).

I'm thinking of starting the group in a caravan headed towards Hommlet and Templeton may become a temporary wagon driver if you wish it.

EDIT: The "swamp" group would not be along with the caravan, but I have an ideal on getting them to meet everyone.

Yeah: 0
Nay: 2

My vote is a soft nay for the uber quick rests. However, my opinion is that its the short rest that needs shortening to something you can realistically do every 2-3 encounters, whereas long rests are best balanced at 8 hours.

My thoughts were that those with short rest powers could say they take 5 minutes, while others continue to explore a room or two. Not everyone would need to stop and rest all at the same time when it is in 5 min blocks unlike it would be for an hour short rest.

I thought about the spell casters also. But stopping an hour in a cult filled dungeon might not always give you that time you need. So once in a while an hour long rest would be interrupted and forget about 8 hours. You would need to either leave or convince those in the dungeon your one of them.

Not trying to sway your vote just throwing out ideals for debate.

So far:
Yeah: 0
Nay: 1

People spend five minutes searching for treasure after most encounters. Hexiros isn't one for searching, but he certainly wouldn't mind standing around for a few minutes here and there to let his breath weapon recharge. Nothing wrong with an extra use every now and then, so I guess I vote Yes, reserving the right to change my vote if someone convinces (or bribes) me to do so. :)

I would be alright with changing the short rest time to around 15 minutes (sometimes less, sometimes more) depending on the wounds/exhaustion level of the group. And then leaving the long rest as is. This will be amendment 1.

Rest option:
Yeah: 1
Nay: 3

amendment 1:
Yeah: 0

Very good point. I also had a group IRL that everyone did something different when we went to rest. Ritual casting or the casting of a spell that took 10 min. like prayer circle (then of course the player complained they didn't get any benefits because the "group" rested).

Having others search while someone stands guard (i.e. rests a minute) could come in handy if the guard was the only one wounded last encounter.

I say to advance the plot/gameplay, go ahead and call short rests however long or short as you need them to be...I am completely fine with that!

I would be in for short rest being anything 15+ minutes, BUT ONLY 1 between encounters (even if it is longer than 15 minutes) to avoid 4th edition syndrome of healing mutliple times or using encounter utilities etc...between every 5 minutes

Character reviews:

Hexiros

- Think you highly Deception instead of Animal Handling as the totals are correct.
- Who is Norbrit? he is listed in your second wind ability
- also have prof vehicles(land) under background features

Got it all fixed up, thanks. Norbrit was dwarf fighter that I mad for another campaign. Sadly, the game died before he saw any action. I just used his sheet as a template for Hexiros and missed that part. Thanks again for catching it! :)

Hexiros is posted in the RG now, and should be ready to roll.
