It's not even so much a case of wanting to be CR 1...being CR 1 is what Moon Druids -do-.

If I wanted to be CR 1/4 or CR 1/2, I could take Land Druid and get that, plus a whole bunch of other goodies, and I'd get them all right away.

Moon druids sacrifice most of those goodies, in exchange for have badass animal shapes available quickly.

Having control over what shapes a druid has access to is the GM's prerogative of course, and I'm more than willing to work with you on that. But not having -any- would be akin to my taking Land Druid, only to find out that I don't get bonus spells right away. My reaction is summed up as, "Okaaayyy...but how fast can I get some, because that's part of why I made the choice to follow that path."

The answer is as soon as you want them as a player. My want is for it to be RP'ed so as to add depth to the "control of the curse" we are working on. Something like -

Shayuri posts: Aridha is to far to get to the others to help. She thinks about the quick wolves running fiercely in the forest and feels her blood start to burn.

"NO!" a feral voice cries in her head. Then the imagine of a wolf larger than a pony its muzzle full of sharp teeth, and it's legs more powerful than a blacksmith's arms fill her mind. The coarse grey hair and black fore paws suddenly form around the petite Aridha as a DIRE WOLF rushes in to attack the ogre.

And then we put a Y beside Dire Wolf.

Sorry about your roll Binder Fred, but for every 1 there will be an 8 and in the end I believe everyone will find that their HP reach the average.

Give this till about 5th lvl and you'll see. As with River Songs roll I hope the rolls add to the way everyone plays their characters.

Thanks I guess I wasn't so clear the first time. I wanted the curse to help with those monsters Aridha will probably never encounter like say.. a Sabertooth Tiger.

Darn my timing was terrible then. I had this whole first Dragonborn to stay at the Inn thing I wanted to do. And have a party and everything, but as not to take more time than it did I just skipped it. Next time perhaps.
