D&D 5E Return to The Temple of Elemental Evil - (full, at the moment)

Hm. Okay so...that's your privilege of course...but strictly OOC I'd like to know how I can fix that?

Wildshaping is something I'd like to rely on, and getting early access to CR1 is part of the mechanics Moon Druids get that make up for them not getting extra spells and the ability to refresh spell slots on short rests and so on.

In my defense there are only a few that Aridha might have "seen" in her early career. As for the others, they would make excellent denziens for an encounter or two.

CR(1)
Brown Bear
Dire Wolf
Giant Hyena
Giant Spider
Lion
Tiger

I thought of putting a Y beside brown bear, but then you would never use black bear. There is also the off chance of RPing the beast within "showing" you a new creature right for the situation. I will take any ideals you have on how to improve the list, but I just like a character having goals.

It was nice of you to give her an excuse. :)

hitpoint roll = [1]

lol: lady of luxury has it's drawbacks eh?

Yes, yes it does (haha)
I think The Dice Gods know you aren't going to be going toe to toe anytime soon.

Early, yar, I agree there's probably only a couple Aridha would likely know of herself. I'd say the brown bear...maybe the dire wolf.

The others could totally wait for her encountering them if that's how you'd like to play it. I'd be fine with that. I wasn't sure if the ability to change into those forms came from Aridha's knowledge or the 'curse' itself. :)

If you really, really want to be a CR1 - when the time comes I'd like to play he curse showing you "in your mind" orange and black stripes, the body of a house cat, but larger, larger than a wolf or deer, a cat with fangs and claws as long as a knife.

Something like that - thinking the RP will benefit - specially when it shows youa rhino in your head, not likely to encounter one.

It's not even so much a case of wanting to be CR 1...being CR 1 is what Moon Druids -do-.

If I wanted to be CR 1/4 or CR 1/2, I could take Land Druid and get that, plus a whole bunch of other goodies, and I'd get them all right away. :)

Moon druids sacrifice most of those goodies, in exchange for have badass animal shapes available quickly.

Having control over what shapes a druid has access to is the GM's prerogative of course, and I'm more than willing to work with you on that. But not having -any- would be akin to my taking Land Druid, only to find out that I don't get bonus spells right away. My reaction is summed up as, "Okaaayyy...but how fast can I get some, because that's part of why I made the choice to follow that path." :)

Can we just take the average hp as per PHB instead of rolling ?

Sent from my SM-G950U using EN World mobile app

I'm sorry hero4hire, but we are rolling to keep that old 1e D&D feel to the adventure. Finding areas where I can keep that old school spirit alive, like with the monster hp.

I'll be keeping track and I hope you roll all 8's from here on out to say later you loovveee rolling for HP. (haha)
