(OOC: Not using the mirror or scrying--he has a different ESP power called Clairvoyance that just works with no medium like the normal ESP (but has a shorter range)
I know, but its still on the device so he must still be using something. Or is the idea that he just grasps the staff and for some reason doing that gives him access to a load of extra spells.[/sblock]
Martin scans around again and spots about a dozen cars in the busy traffic which seem to fit Clay's description. He really can't be sure which one is following them.

I'm sorry but with notice +1 Martin just has no chance of spotting these guys. I agree comon sense says it should not be too hard but it is too hard for Martin.

"Next exit, I go to a gas station. I go buy something to eat and dirnk and come back into the car. Martin, you turn invisible Clay and make your illusion while. Clay get out of the car and we go back on road. Clay, you'll try to follow our followers. You'll sty in communication with out coomlink. Sounds that good with everyone?" asks Sergeant.

(OOC: Yep, the staff lets him cast more spells. If he loses that, he loses the spells in the staff. Also, he's not using Notice--the skill for this case according to the ESP description is Search, since he searches the given area. He's much better at that (though admittedly still not wonderful so I understand if that's still too low--that's why with my non-sidekick who has ESP, I gave her a Search bonus in the same part of the array as ESP)

"Drop a communicator on the floor when you go out of the car" says Clay.

[sblock=ooc]Plan would be the following. Tell us if we (and by that I mean me) have misunderstood what we can do with our powers.

1-Sergeant stops the car and gets out of it. He discreetly drops a communicator on the floor.
2-Martin creates an illusory double of Clay as he liquefies
3-Clay flows out of the car. He has to turn liquid so he doesn't have to open a door and alert our followers, and therefore he can't carry anything. Once outside he activates his Conceal power (resuming humanoid form, as it's part of an array), picks up the com, and sneaks in the chasing car's direction. Alternatively Martin casts Invisibility on him.
3-Once there he has the option to Morph into something that can grab the car's underbody, or perhaps better Corrode a small hole (Clay's Corrosion is Precise) to the car's trunk just big enough for the comlink, and then flow again in liquid form inside where he'd activate his Conceal power once more.[/sblock]

Um No. Martin is attempting to spot someone who is tailing him. Explained in detail under Stealth. ESP will let him do it with out turning around but it is not going to change the nature of the check.[/sblock]

[Sblock=Someone]Plan looks fine to me, although I really wouldn't recommend trying to hang upside down underneath a moving car. :> I think that would be at least a DC25 climb check (probably one every time they took a corner). (Morphing into a hook gets the form but not the function) Using corrosion is noticeable by default so it might get spotted but Clay is pretty stealthy.[/sblock]

OOC - I am happy for everyone to treat the VS sblock in post 102 as IC knowledge assuming Flux told everyone what she found.

[sblock=ooc]That's ok. I might add that I'll try to corrode the small hole where it can't be easily noticed - I'm assuming that the comlink is a relatively small thing, the kind you get attached to your ear or something like that, not a regular walkie-talkie.

Just in case you're asking for a Stealth check, the total is 28

[SBLOCK=GM](OOC: Ohhhh! Now I understand--this is totally my fault because I didn't explain myself well :o If that's what you thought he was trying to do, you would totally be right. He's not using ESP to glance behind and hope to see the car--his plan is to methodically search the entire field of cars behind them one by one until he finds each one with the correct description, then look at everyone inside those cars and memorise their features with Eidetic Memory (and of course, if one of them is full of vampires or hooded men or something, he notes that too). He might get a bunch of wrong cars too this way, but Mental Quickness should let him do the search relatively quickly.

Admittedly, if these guys are using some kind of Stealth on their car and are good at it, he might definitely still fail, even with his higher Search bonus.[/SBLOCK]

He doesn't spot any vampires or hooded men.

[Sblock=ooc]This is really pretty silly because even if Martin could pinpoint the car and look inside with ESP I am not sure what information he is hoping to gain.[/sblock]

[Sblock=Eidetic Memory]I know that the description says "You have perfect recall" But mechanically it is only a +4 bonus on skill checks. (And the ability to make untrained Knowledge checks)

So for example pass one of the memorised people on the street later and then it is +4 to the notice check, if you pass the check then "Oh that guy looks familiar." If you pass well then "Oh that's one of the people who might have been following us earlier."

Similarly (and perhaps more relevant) if you break into the villains lair and find a load of chemical formulas written on the white board but only have time for a quick glance, Eidetic memory is not going to let you write those formulas down again later unless you already have a pretty high Know-Physical sciences. (Well it might, you could make the check, but equally you might write down the wrong thing.) [/sblock]
