Look at the other histories above - Relsyn and Inwe - for character past
A lot can be done "on the fly"
in the most recent players log (from the face to face game) Trailan and Randall has a short discussion
[sblock]INTERLUDE
Randall: "Since the isolation on this continent, we have made the woodlands of the north our home. The elves have tended the trees for generations, and the groves are the most beautiful any eye has seen. There are trees there that draw power from deep in the earth, and are restorative to my people. Life is "truer" there, more vibrant, more real there than this mundane exile we live here.
Many wept when we were forced to leave the groves, for the defilement that reached deep into the land. Even the trees were fouled, so we could not live there. Perhaps yet some still live?
I intend, someday, to dispel the evil that forced my kin from their ancestral home. Elven kind will feel the life of the trees again. How I will do this, I have yet to find out.
PAUSE
deep sigh - and Randall shakes himself back to the present…
This keep appears to be an ideal launching spot for the excursions into the North. I think we need to know this area much better. We need to strike deep at the Bugbears and stop their attack on these lands in order for the city to be safe and grow again.
Eventually, this area will need to be united with either church, elves, or King, for extended protection. I prefer the elves as I need to rekindle my family ties. There is much to do. My life, at least for the next few hundred years, shall be dedicated to this cause."
Trailan: "I hear your words Elven brother and I morn the losses your people have suffered.
The heritage of my folk too lies North of these peaks. Many forge where once were crafted mighty weapons or works of wonder and beauty now lie cold upon the earth. Many fields go unplowed, many heroic dead unmourned and many ancient songs unsung.
In these lands north of the mountains where once the Mighty Salix routed the enemies of Eli, now lies disgraced and cursed beyond the sight of dwarves and elves. It is a disgrace to Eli and Saints and to all those dwarves, and elves, who dwell in exile on the wrong side of these mountains. The entire land is a monument to undeath and should be brought
low.
I share your Pain, my friend, and also your vision. I say that Salix himself would not rest with such abomination at his doorstep, can we do less? I have spoken my piece, and now for my pipe and some baccy..."
BOTH EBB INTO DEEPER THOUGHTS IN QUIETNESS…[/sblock]
Things to note:
* North of the mountains is a land far greater than what we have already seen.
* Not much has been written about it Out of Character, so go for it.
* Elves come from the great forest groves where the trees grow large and are somewhat
. . . magical. After landing on the continent (after exile from Eire) they moved west and North, so
. . . somewhere on the Mid-Northern part of the undrawn northern continent, the elves have
. . . a vast forest kingdom, perhaps moving out to the plains.
* Dwarves live ??? TBD
* I would think halflings would have a history West and North of Bastion, but not necessarily.
