While performing a ride you do not provoke an AOO, but what if your target has reach?

You and your mount do not provoke an attack of opportunity from the opponent that you attack.

I don't see how reach would change this. Even without reach, moving up to your target, attacking and then moving away would provoke without the above clause. The feat does not give any exemption for targets with reach.

Agreed. No AoO from the opponent that you attacked using Ride-By Attack, regardless of if they have reach or not.

Then your target has reach, but doesn't get to make an AOO on you.
