do the spells need to be cast every day of the crafting process or just once at the culmination of the crafting? ill admit that ive only scanned the rules for item creation (no one in the parties ive ran created items [sept for one guy who had a special PrC made for him by a prior DM that had its own creation rules]), but since im gonna be running a wizard in a world were +1 items are considered relics of a bygone age, i wanna be clear on how that works (i plan on making items to sublimate the lack of purchasable/scavenged items).

You have to have the spell prepared/ready for each day of the crafting.

Edit - and it expends the slot each day.

Not really a joke. Just pointing out that the robe only works for arcane spellcasters, making your response somewhat inane. ;)

How deceptively insulting of you. Please, let us keep this civil.

The point is that the item encourages collaberation of a divine caster and an arcane caster, and the root of the word magus, the singular form of magi, encompasses both arcane and divine magic. It's perfectly relevant.

Hehehehe, ok ok ok, I will just fall on the previous truce built with the words "differing styles" and let it rest ;)

Yes, civility is good.

But as you pointed out, magus does NOT mean "divine caster".

It means "divine priest of the Medes and Persians", and ALL Magicians and Sorcerers.

And in DnD, it means "Arcane Caster".

GOOD GOD WAS THAT PrC UNBALANCING!!!!

thnx for the clarification

Ok, now I'm intrigued. What was it about this custom PrC that makes it so unbalanced in light of this rules clarification.

Inquiring minds want to know. :p

No, I didn't point that out. I pointed out...

It doesn't matter what the order is. The meaning of the word encompasses both, as you just confirmed.

This is sort of my point. The definition sees fit to encompass all magicians and sorcerers, but *only* divine priests of the Medes and Persians. If it were meant as a term reflecting *all* priests, the definition would say so.

It's far more likely that the "priests" of the Medes and Persians were closer to arcane casters, or hucksters in definition terms.

And in the context of DnD, magus/magi means Sorcerers and Wizards.
