Rogue PrCs

OK, I'll have a good look at Whisper Gnome. I'll just look through CW, CAdv and Eberron for PrCs. Are there any PrCs out there which are just plain better than straight rogue, or is 20 lvls of rogue a valid option?

20 levels of rogue aren't a bad bet, since you get 4 rogue special abilities, and those are pretty neat.

Shadowdancer is hard to pass up at least 2 levels in even if you go mostly straight. You get Hide in Plain Sight, permanent darkvision, and an extra +4 on improved Uncanny dodge levels, D8 HD for 2 levels, and you don't loose many skill points of class skills from Rogue (6 SP, fairly good list of skills)

Streetfighter in CA is a fairly interesting 5 level PrC that's pretty good at combat. You get initiative bonuses, decent skills, full BAB, a sneak attack die, and you can blow off half damage from an attack as non-lethal damage. Eventualy gets stacking uncanny dodge, and 4 SP per level.

I also listed a few others, but those all work well. Realy depends on your total concept. There is even the Thief Acrobat if you want to be more bouncy.

I always wince when people say "Is this Pr-class BETTER than a core class?" Because honestly THAT'S not what Pr-class should be about.

But if you want my advice, just stick with Rogue overall. The only reason to get a Pr-class, is to focus on a specific aspect related to rogue abilities.

OGL stuffs (couldn't resist... :) )

Coal Tongue Raver from Bad Axe. It's designed to be a Barbarian/Rogue Multi-class with a focus on poisons. The Bar/Rog makes for a good combat option (rage plus TWF for flanking, aAND fast movement). You gain bonuses against poisons, can poison those that bite/swallow you, go into a rage if someone poisons you, and (best of all, fluff wise) later levels allow you to poison a blade as a move action by licking it, as well as spit poison for a blinding effect. You get +5d6 sneak attack for 10 levels, so you get full use out of your Sneak Attack damage. You also gain the vasion and Slippery Mind abilties.

Again, it's designed for a half-orc barb/Rogue, but the prereqs don't really enforce this (the skill prereqs can just as easily be reached with a ranger).

EDIT: Also comes with an interesting feat. If you spend 2 of your rages for the day, you can flank while raging and not take the -2 AC penalty (only for flanking though...).

Story, mmm never heard of that...

I'd also recommend checking out Player's Guide to Rangers and Rogues. That might work out very well for you too.
