Rogue PrCs

Check out Ninja Spy from Oriental Adventures. I recommend a mix of 1 ranger/x rogue/few Ninja Spy/few assasin. Ninja Spy gives you Hide in Plain Sight, Acrobatics, and a slew of other neat abilities. The one level of ranger allows you to Track, something every party needs. High level rogues get all the neat abilities like Opportunist & Crippling Strike (combine that with a Wounding Weapon, especially two of them!) Assasin if you want some neat spells and have a good Int for Death Attack.

Since we're on the subject (can't believe I forgot about this):

The Ninja from the Rokugan Campaign setting. Best BaB, Rogues Sneak Attack damage progression, bonuses for moving at higher speeds and still remaining hidden, and poison use to boot! This and TWF menas you may not need to multi-class...

I always wince when people say "Is this Pr-class BETTER than a core class?" Because honestly THAT'S not what Pr-class should be about.

But if you want my advice, just stick with Rogue overall. The only reason to get a Pr-class, is to focus on a specific aspect related to rogue abilities.

Yeah, I'd like to think so too. And I'd be happy if there aren't any "must-have" PrCs out there, 'cause it's more fun if I can look at how cool the PrCs are, and not just how powerful. :)

I was just a bit worried when the DM and another player started talking about which three or four PrCs they should combine to get the best character... I'll have to admit that I've got enough of the power gamer in me to dislike being the most useless character in the party!

(So the suggestion of Whisper Gnome seems especially helpful, I'm going to check out Races of Stone in the FLGS today! :D )

Keep in mind, that often the most potent character combinations are far from powerfull till much later on. Who cares if your character will wield arcane and devine power supreme at 20th level if you're playing him at 3rd and you can't do anyting usefull because you have 3 different classes and took skills and feats in a strange manner.

I just saw the Whisper Gnome on the wotc site, and  ! Thanks for the tip on that one. :] I had a read-through of some of the threads on the wotc optimization board, but for now I'm looking at a straight rogue Whisper Gnome. Maybe I'll change my mind.

Rogue/invisible blade/tempest.
I don't like this combo because the Invisible Blade is probably fighting with two daggers and the Tempest gives neat benefits when you are fighting with two different weapons.

Ulrik,

Good luck with your Whisper gnome. And don't worry I'm sure you'll do fine. *Glad though you agreed with my post about "Pr-classes SHOULDN'T be equal to Core ones." *

You could take either the Shade template OR maybe the Shadow one. There's also one for the Shadow Masters of Telfman...
