D&D 5E Roll20.net character sheet for 5e

First Post
With all the excitement of the nearly but not quite actually here 5e release I thought i'd drop a quick note to let people who may play on roll20.net that I have been working on adding a 5e sheet to it. For those that dont know all the sheets are community made and I made the Next sheet that is currently available within roll20. the intention is to leave that sheet available for all so anyone still using the playtest rules can finish/continue their campaigns whilst releasing this new 5e sheet to support the full system release.

The facilities and quirks of not only a VTT but also the options available via roll20 means that the sheets are understandably a little different from the pen and paper versions (providing roll buttons, autocalcing some fields, etc...). And the guidelines from roll20 mean that for them to be accepted and made publicly available they need to follow the RAW with no additional homebrew options as well as not providing any options for auto levelling (beyond working out a value here and there based on your class level).

For those that are interested please visit the roll20 forum post (linked below) for full details and how to join a test campaign where the current version of the sheet is on display and feel free to pass on any feedback/comments/questions. Please note the few points listed on the roll20 forum post that indicate what has, and more importantly what hasnt, been updated on the sheet from the playtest rules to the full 5e release (particularly that the proficiency bonus calculation hasnt yet been updated from the last playtest version!). Many things are awaiting the 5e release in the next couple of days and will be updated once I have access to those rules.....so i've defaulted to using the last playtest rules for now.

Excellent! I'm using the playtest sheet in my game right now, the players love it. I'll have a look at the new beta sheet.

Thanks guys.

If you dont mind I have a bit of a question surrounding what will and wont be in the core ruleset based on some feedback (not here!) i've had already that people here might be able to help with. I've had someone "ask" (though ask is putting it very politely lol) why I havent added a section to track the diplomacy/reputation with factions.

I had thought that the faction system was a part of the organised play systems they were adding in and not for the core ruleset (though i understand at home players could use it too....just that it's not something directly supported unless playing and registering results through whatever system the OP program has).

I've quickly looked over the starter set sheets again (since the feedback i got was "Have you seen their sheets? There are factions." :hmm: ) and fail to see any place for faction tracking on them.

So I guess the question for you all is the faction system going to be a part of whatever the core ruleset ends up being (and the starter set is missing it because it's a starter set) or is it primarily an Organised play thing?

It's primarily an organised play thing, but there are guidelines for them in the DMG. This was stated by Mike sometime in the last couple of weeks, although I forget exactly where.

Thanks, that's pretty much what I had figured and understood too. just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed a huge section as was kinda being suggested in the feedback I got.

I don't recall seeing any faction on the D&D Starter Set character sheet. Factions are a thing from the Adventurer's League Organized Play, not core D&D rules.

Factions appears on the Tyranny of Dragons character sheet though, which can be found here: http://media.wizards.com/downloads/dnd/TODCharacterSheet.pdf

Ah, just watching the live play-through of Lost Mine of Phandelver, and Greg Bilsland mentioned that there is a space to record a faction on the optional third page of the official sheet. All three sheets will show up in Basic on the 3rd. He also mentions that they've added a little box to record Inspiration on page 1.

Hmmm ok...thanks again all....will add it to the list of suggestions i've been sent and about to post on the roll20 forum thread above.
