Has anyone ever rolled multiple 3s?

I rolled four 3's once. I HAD to cheat that time.

Nah, bro - take it and run with it! With that set, you could be an oak tree, or a rock...

I can't stand to roll even single digit scores, much less threes. One of my PbP characters was the first one I'd ever played with Attribute penalties. And I did that with point-buy.

But straight 18s, even with 4d6 drop low, is (like many people have pointed out) bordering the mathematically impossible, and makes for an unplayable character.

If I've got a couple 15s, and my lowest stat is 10, I'm a happy man...

I have seen 6 18's on 4d6dl once.
This was in Ad&D some 6 or 7 years back, and we roll up our characters togather (which we always do since our ability score rolls needs at least two wittnesses if the DM isn't around).

The guy (he is called the "Hunk"), couldn't believe it, I couldn't believe it nor the DM could belive what had just seen. And what does "Hunk" make you think?

He did a human fighter of the worst kind (no 18/00 in strength however).

So yes it has happened to one of my friends, and he has apart from me, the DM of that time and two other players as witnesses.

And so, yes it can happen and the possible change in math is not based on a single person, it is based on all 4d6dl rolls ever made .

Seen it once, my brother rolled it right in front of my eyes. AD&D, and he got an 18/85 strength from it too. He decided to play the character as a Paladin and wound up being the most ineffective character I've ever seen. Killed half the party with an attack on a gas spore, got "turned" and ran from a few fights, and rolled 3 natural 1 on attacks in a row. All his dice luck was spent in character generation.

Nah. The closest I've witnessed was four 18s and two 16s.

I have rolled 4 18's on one character with witnesses. That is the best I have ever done or seen done.

I had all 18s once, but it was with point buy.
