Maybe because we're playing heroes, not the "Average Joe".... We like our characters to be able to do stuff that we, normally, can't do.

Very true, but he has heroic stats, his Con, Wis, & Cha are good.

No we can't choose how we are born. But we can most certainly choose our career. This guy with bare qualifications as a paladin and not even able to walk around in his own armour made a poor choice. Party support cleric is an ideal role for him. Front line fighter-type is a deathwish.

Very true PW. Had *I* rolled this character, off to cleric school he would be. As this is pre-gen, you take what you get, good or bad.
