Hey, it's all the same to me. I didn't intend to sound like I was seconding Rystil Arden's suggestion, just answering Wulf Ratbane's objection to it.

I thought as much, but if you were seconding it, I could hardly have said "with respect to Rystil Arden..." and not mentioned you. At least, not without implying I was saying it without respect to you...

I can't believe...!

It amuses me that people are still incredulous with regards to someone voting for a feat. I mean there are 4 left, and they are all top notch feats that a lot of people use! I think all of us would have taken at least one of these feats over the years...

Power Attack. Not because I really dislike the feat, but if I look over the characters I've played over the past 4 years or so, I don't think one of them has ever had power attack. I guess I should try it out one day. :)

Pinotage

Oh you should, my friend, you should. It's an awesome feat (and I voted it off!)

Bleh, POWER ATTACK. I don't care if it does give you more damage... what's the point of doing more damage if you can't hit when you swing? :)

There's always a 5% chance...

I voted power attack because I've only ever used it as a prerequisite for later feats or other things. I am aware of the uses outlined by Gez above, but for me trying to keep that stuff in mind just adds complications which I don't want my straightforward, simplistic warriors to think about :)

And here was my main reasoning for voting it off! That's right. You're playing a fighter! You shouldn't be thinking that hard, and if you keep it up I'm gonna make you play a MAGE!

And again I must say Improved Initiative is the only feat left in the pool that can benefit EVERY character in the game regardless of class, focus, etc.

That's exactly why I think that feat should make it to the end (though it really doesn't look like it's going to...*crosses fingers*).

In fact, I think that Power Attack is one of *the* most narrowly useful feat still on the island. It's only useful to one relatively narrow character build. Not just tanks -- one specific type of tank that likes to use big weapons. If one member of the party has it, no one else will (unless they're a party of all fighters or something. ;) ). Rapid shot is the other one. Weapon Finesse is pretty narrow, but it's still useful to more members of the party than Power Attack.

Once again, I marvel at the logic of choosing a feat that gives you a penalty over choosing a feat that gives you a bonus....

Vote for Improved Initiative people! Only useful for the first round of combat, while Rapid Shot is useful every round! Vote off Improved Initiative!

Why is Improved Initiative only useful for the first round of combat? Suppose it takes 16 rounds for you and your adversary to get each other down to single digit HPs. On the 17th round, either of you might finish the other off, but only the one to go first gets the chance! It may have been 16 rounds ago that you actually rolled for initiative, but that roll is still working for you.

Not exactly accurate. If you want tactical control, the best time to establish it is in the first round. While you don't enjoy the literal benefits of II thereafter, you enjoy its benefits in the form of superior combat control.

Die Weapon Finesse DIE! Go away, and don't come back till you're either a weapon function or don't have an inane +1 BAB requirement!

Thats a pretty indirect and coincidental argument. If somebody has the first strike on round 17 when both opponents only have 1 hp left I would say that was almost entirely luck. It would be almost impossible to plan something like that out on the first round.
