  • BACKGROUND: Mark Rein-Hagen created many notable games including Ars Magica, the World of Darkness, Vampire: the Masquerade, and Lostlorn that I mentioned above. In addition, Mark briefly worked on Vampire: the Masquerade Fifth Edition during its controversial genesis, an experience he discusses here

The “Dark Reunion” they’re hosting combines too many of the WoD designers to name. At the con, there will be WoD panels and games run by the designers. If you’re a Wraith, Werewolf, Mage, Changeling, Vampire, or general WoD fan, this is the convention to check out. In addition, there will be other great gaming publishers like Alan Bahr’s Gallant Knight Games, Lostlorn Games, Infinite Storm Studios, Storm Bunny Studios, Dark Naga Adventures, and many more. Between the guests, content, the cheap ticket and hotel room prices, this is a convention worth checking out. If you’re interested, the campaign page shares details about the gathering.

5e/Pathfinder KS's could probably be spun off into their own entries, just to give other KS's their shot. I'd bet half of this is just 5e. Not really being objective in choices.

Everything's Fine
Tanares RPG – 5e from Dragori Games
  • this campaign is set in a world where there are no armies, just powerful adventuring bands.
Ok, this is interesting, a bit. But... why wouldn't the 20th level adventuring band just liquidate via Wish or something else ever lower level band of its opponent? I may have to buy the .pdf just to have that question answered.

And I'm sorry, but another European analog like Golarian? (and even to some degree the North and Chult with the Shining Sea between them form sort of a pseudo Europe). Meh.

Would much rather see some sort of analog like either the Indian Ocean and surrounding lands or the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea and surrounds.

I struggle to see the mass appeal of Tanares. How many generic high fantasy settings does one need?
It seemed very well presented and with that list of authors they are going to draw a lot of folks in.

I am not in the market for any campaign books, but the adventure book looks interesting.

I backed this kickstarter, it looks really good (and not too expensive)

It was covered in last week's crowdfunding update. And it is gorgeous. I have been a Patreon of Double Proficiency for a little while.
