Does anyone know if this is the kind of book with the big spiral binding in the middle of the 2-page spread. These books always interest me, but when I see that spiral breaking things up in the middle, it breaks me out of it and it is a dealbreaker for me too - but on the other hand, I'd love a book of a mix of urban plan battlemats.

These books always interest me, but when I see that spiral breaking things up in the middle, it breaks me out of it and it is a dealbreaker for me too - but on the other hand, I'd love a book of a mix of urban plan battlemats.

It is spiral bound, I have a few of them as it is not a deal breaker for me. Especially the convenience of taking the mid-sized ones to conventions outweighs the immersion break.

I have seen a few map books that have a binding instead, but unless you using the maps in the middle of the book, you then have one side that's too high and now rests at an angle on the table.

IF this one is like my Giant Book of Battlemaps(the 1st one), the binding is about 3/4" and the maps wind up about 1/4"(or less) apart. For me, less of an immersion break then the player that keeps using the unpainted mini, especially the white ones.

Gotta offer to paint the minis for them! (or at the very least a dip and wash to bring out some detail to differentiate).

Yes. Loke calls it a 360 degree spine but it is a spiral binding.

If you have two battle map books you could connect in the middle outer edges and keep the spirals at opposite edges. Call them hedge rows or weird rocks or something. Maybe a PC can touch one to call on mystical energies and gain advantage on the next attack.

Those healing potion dice vials are terribly clever. I can't see myself paying sixty bucks for them, but they're very cool.
