RPGObjects is proud to announce the release of Cold War, a 44 page sourcebook covering the decades-long face-off between the United States and the Soviet Union.

In addition to covering the cold war historically, Cold War serves as an espionage manual for d20 Modern games, providing information on running spooks throughout the period.

Cold War is written by Mike Daumen and Charles Rice.

Hey Chuck, is that going to get a preview up any time soon? It sounds interesting, but the marketing text doesn't really tell us what's inside.

Oh, and do you need RPGO's other agent book, or does this one reprint a few of the feats and such that were in the other spy product you put out?

None of the feats from Blood & Secrets are in it, but it does reprint some new skill uses that have appeared in other books (along with some new ones). I would consider it a GM book, with ideas for running gritty spy games from 1945-1990.

Mostly what Hero said. It has some feat and skill uses from Blood and Guts, along with some completely new mechanics.

The crunch is not the majority of the book though. Most is information on cold war cities, flavor and information on running spy networks realistically.

Would it work for running a more front line WWIII style game? I am thinking something more akin to "Red Dawn" than "Spies like us." I'm just not into the Bourne or Bond style spy genre stuff, although I can certainly see use out of the flavor text.

Also, come by the chat room some time this weekend, I have some things I want to discuss with you.

Hrmm...guess I'll have to think about buying this sometime this weekend then.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. Mike turned in a terrific book. It was a genuine pleasure to read and work with him on it.

Darnit. I couldn't even hold out for the weekend, I had to buy it at work.

Quick skim through: Not too shabby. I'm sure I can find some use out of it in the long run.
