RS1-Stolen University (Salix Judging)

With Zenji rushing off to join Dr Archville Mr Jones takes the time to tuck the sheet back up around Jim before following at a more sedate pace. There was no noise of battle to spur him on and any kind of disturbance involving Zenji would certainly not be quiet.

Entering the oaken doorway to observe Zenji and Archville politely taking tea with The Minister, Mr Jones paused suddenly trying to reconcile events in his mind. Finally deciding to let things take their course he nods in greeting to the minister, not wanting to interrupt the intense conversation, and takes up station by the door, standing with his hands crossed and his back to the wall.

"Please, Mr. Jones, have a seat and some tea. Very well, Vicktor, quid pro quo' one thing for another. Since I already explained the reasons for my being here and the nature of Archer's experiments, it would only be polite for you to go first: What condition of Rebecca's are you refering to?" his piercing gaze seems locked on Archeville.

Archeville's Rhine-blue gaze locks to the Minister's, two wolve's locked to one another. "Ah, but I already said, I do not vish to discuss zhe experiments, I vish to discuss you. Zhe man inside zhe robes. Besides, once I tell you of Rebecca's condition, vell, I vould lose mein only bargaining chip."

"I vill ay, zhough, zhat your Rebecca's condition -- from what admittedly little I haff been able to ascertain in mein brief time mit zhe Resolutes -- is not placing her in any immediate harm... zhough it may in a few years, or even months."

"So, Herr Minister, tell me -- how is it zhat you do not know of your daughter Rebecca's condition? Are you zhe kind of man who put his vork before zhe wellfare of his own flesh und blood? More interested in your own research zhan your own family? Seeking one legacy at zhe expense of anozher?"

"Misconceptions brought about by a preconcieved notion about my goals and ambitions, Vicktor. Unfortunatley for you, I will have to irrovably disprove that theory. Honestly I thought a man of your reputation would know better then to enter an arrangement with preconcieved notions. Perhaps the apple does not fall so far from the tree.

Not having the opportunity to truley know or contact her was not my idea, Vicktor. Suffice to say that I gained a more pronounced dislike for barristers when her mother decided to continue her affair and formally cut me out of the familial picture to ease her own guilt. Rebecca was six. The only reason I saw my daughter on her sixteenth birthday was by her insistance; the poor dear knew nothing of the arrangement, or why I had spent a jaunt prison for violating a Restraining Order. That was a small price to pay for seeing her.

His calm demenor and poker face crack again to a visage of anger.

Quid pro quo, Vicktor. I would hate to learn that you are not a man who keeps his word.

While the Minister is talking, your sixth sense picks up powerful mental energy emenating from the minister. The agitation caused by the recollection of his memories seemed to have removed the barrier blocking your mind before.

While the Minister talks, you can feel Carowyn's Cowl react to something in the room. The gem on the The Galdron Stave glows faintly.

"Ahhh.... Ja, I do apologize, und you are quite right, preconceptions are quite undesirable."

"I am a man of mein word, Herr Minister. Your Rebecca's condition is--"

Zenji stands up suddenly, knocking his chair back into the wall, as he points his staff at the minister's head. "What games are you playing, Minister?!? I demand you cease this mental intrusion or I'll be forced to end this parlay immediately-- and violently!

Zenji, if I were embarking on a mental intrusion then I would not be wasting time anwsering questions! the last two words reverberates in the minds of the three Resolutes. A red glow surrounds the Minister's hands as he stands while he speaks, the laptop, the picture frames and the assorted notebooks and paper fall to the floor as the glow envolpes the desk, transforming it into an eight foot tall statue of a Roman Centurian.

The minister's voice can be heard from behind the statue, "What. Is. The Condition."

"Calm down Zenji, he's not messing with our minds, at least not supernaturally" Says Mr Jones reassuringly, before turning to The Minister, "Sir, I hope you will forgive our young friend's outburst. He can be some what headstrong at times as I am sure you have noticed, but you will agree his heart is in the right place."

The magician has continued to stand close to the wall having politely declined the proffered tea and chair.

Zenji looks around the room and, seeing Mr. Jones blocking the door, he begins to back himself into a corner and now tightly clenches his staff, waving it in front of him slowly as if warding off all three of the other men in the room.

"NO! Listen, I don't know what the hell is going on here, but why are we sitting here talking to this monster?!? We're the good guys, he's the bad guy, and we've got a mission: to take him out! I don't know if he's actually mind controlling you guys, but he's obviously having some kind of effect, and every minute we sit here he's trying to worm his influence deeper into our subconscious and I'm not going to stand idly by and allow that any more!"

With that, Zenji concentrates and fires a cone of reddish light, targetting Dr. Archeville first since he's obviously the most affected.
