RS1-Stolen University (Salix Judging)

"Pay attention Motley. I am on the roof of the science building, above the side door." Reports Mr Jones. "I've found some nice informative guards keen to tell me the Minister's plans. It loos like this is where he is doing his experiments."

Archeville smirks slightly as he overhears Juggler & Mr. Jones converse, then turns his attention back to the hostages. "Alright, people, if you all are ready, ve can begin to evacuate you all. Ve are not going to be running zhrough zhe campus, zhough, since zhat could place you all in harm's way, und zhat is zhe last zhing ve vish to do. Instead, I am going to use zhis," Archeville unclips the teleportation module from his Gravimetric Belt, holds it up for others to see, then clips it back on, "to teleport you all directly to zhe police forces vaiting outside."

Assuming some folks in the crowd start murmuring -- or shouting -- about the safety of such a method of travel....

"Now, now, I assure you all, zhis method of travel is completely safe. It is one I've used many, many times, und all mein teammates haff used it, too." To demonstrate, Archeville planned to start teleporting around, but when he starts, the portal wavers before popping out of existence and a small wisp of smoke escapes from the shorted-out components.

Thinking quickly, Archeville shuts down the teleportation module completely and uses the standard function of the Gravimetric Belt to fly across and around the room. "Behold zhe miracles of Science!" the Super-Scientist exults. "If I can design und create a belt-sized device vhich allows me to fly around, I can certainly devise und create somezhing mit vhich to get you all out to zhe safety of your local police officers!"

Archeville's Bluff check. +4 from Attractive where applicable. (1d20 [+4] = 14 [18])

The image you recieve is of a white haired man with a crisp goatee and glasses. Despite the color of his hair he doesn't look especially old.

When Archeville activates the teleporter the portal that forms begins to wave and loose its shape. After a few seconds it forms into its normal circle shape and promptly closes. A small wisp of smoke emits from the teleporter module.

OOC: Heh, figured that was due to happen sooner or later. That happened before Archevile tried his "Look, it's perfectly safe!" demo? If so, I really should go edit my last post.

The door behind the two guards opens suddenly to reveal a man with white hair glasses and a goatee followed by 3 more guards dressed in the same armour and helmets as the two on the door. "You two Listen up!" Barks the newcomer "I got a special task for you but keep it quiet. Some damn hacker has taken control of the Minister's bird. They're using it to spy on us. He wants it shot down. quickly!"

Indicating the two guards on the door he continues "You two go right towards the commons, you two go left up to the theatre, Black you guard this door. If you see the bird you shoot it. Everybody clear?" The three guards who arrived with the man giving orders indicate their assent and two of them prep their weapons and prepare to move off.

[sblock=GM]An illusion. (DC20 if I am lucky). Bluff +12 if needed.

If it all looks to be going ***s up then Mr Jones is prepared to drop the illusion and mind control the guard expressing doubts into stunning the other one. [/sblock]

OOC: It happened right after you said "look it's perfectly safe" when you tried to open the first portal
OOC: I've edited my post. Wasn't sure if it'd be a Bluff or Diplomacy check for Archeville to distract folks from the burned-out teleporter and keep them convinced that he can do what he says; Archeville's modifiers for both are the same.

The two guards turn around, their heads rotating to look at each other before turning back toward the man in glasses, "Hacked it? But Minister you said that you animated the statue. the guard on Jone's right says.

The guard on the left lifts his weapon off his shoulder, "Since when did you talk in the third person..and why aren't you using he levels the weapon at the image of the white haired man, "You aren't the Minister of Education! Who the hell are you!." he then looks around "Where the hell did they go?"

The other guard pulls off his weapon "Radio. Situation at the Lab, backup requested!

The gathered people now look dubiously at Herr Doktor Archeville. As the Super scientest flies over head he can hear on of the bigger men in the letter jacket say to another, "Wow, that kinda makes me want to hit him...I hate nerds."

A thin, balding man in a brown suit and large glasses walks towards the door, "What are you doing to Jim?" he asks with a glare at Zenji, "P-put him down, right now!

"Jim? You named him?" Zenji looks at the limp body suspended in mid-air. He shouts, "Hey, Doc! I think they got some of that... thing. You know, the hostage thing? Sweden syndrome?"

One of the people in the amassed crowd helpfully interjects, "Stockholme Syndrome!"

"Right, Stockholme Syndrome! That's it! Thanks, uh... you!"

Ouch, tough luck man. But hilarious all the same! You can't plan things like that!
