(Rumor) Sword & Sorcery to publish D20 Planescape?

That's the rumor on the D&D-L mailing list this morning. Anyone have any information on this?

I never actually played a Planescape game, but it was great material to use to flesh out an existing world's cosmology. It'd be great to see it brought back to life.

I hope it is not true. S&S needs to breath some depth into the settings they have now instead of bringing out a new one. Ravenloft in particular could use some work since there are 3 maybe 4 things out for it currently.

That would be so cool :D
Lets keep our fingers crossed.

( no offence to the people at P3RD, they do a great job, but I prefer stuff in print)

I for one think it would be great. I've seen the product listing at PS3E and I know how much Brannon is active around the PS community, so I'm pretty sure that if they do publish it they will do it together with the people already working on it, just as it happened for Ravenloft...

I doubt this rumour, primarily since I reckon some of the high-ups at Planewalker would probably have already heard about it by now...

(then again, maybe they have, and are just keeping it secret from the lower echelons like me ;) )

I consider myself *somewhat* high-up, and I know nothing of it.

It could have just been a secret thing, but it would be wierd to have them all whipping us into a fervor over the fan-made PS3e rules to be released on PDF, and then go and give in to Sword and Sorcery.

Not that it's impossible, but I think PS, of all settings, has the most invested in WotC's intellectual identity...it's set in the fuggin' Great Wheel, for pete's sake.

That said, it would be sweet. But I'm happy to know I'm instrumental in PS3e's development, even if I don't get the book to hold in my hands and play with.

And you're right. S&S does need to invest some more time and effort into the settings they already have...

....but, then, look at Faerun....the most popular setting has, what, 5 at most? Monsters, Magic, CS, Lords of Darkness, and Faiths and Pantheons?

Yeah, I think 4 is pretty good for a second fiddle among second fiddles, meself. :)

Well no idea on my end but if I hear something, you guys will be the first to know...or may not. ;) Since I imagine the PS3e guys would probably know before I would...

A couple people on this thread have mentioned that S&S needs to flesh out their existing campaign settings more before doing another one. Do they have some campaign setting besides Scarred Lands and Ravenloft? Scarred Lands is very well supported, and Ravenloft has four books out, with more on the way, which is more support than most 3E settings have seen. Anyway, I would be happy to see S&S do Planescape, though I doubt it's going to happen if the PS3E people don't know about it yet.

[They need to] invest some more time and effort into the settings they already have

It appears a few people in this thread are not quite up to speed or perhaps arent familiar with all the products available from SSS for their settings.

Scarred Lands is the single most supported 3E world by far. Nothing is even close. Ghelspad Gaz, Ghelspad Hardback, CC1 hardback, CC2 Hardback, Relics and Rituals (with Relics and Rituals 2 out soon), Divine and Defeated hardback, Wise and the Wicked, Wilderness and Wastelands, Hollofaust, Burok Torn, Warrens of the Rat Men, the list goes on and on.

Ravenloft is also well supported with as many books as any other setting other than SL. You might notice that there is a new hardback out right now in addition to several prior ones.
