[RUMORS]Buffy new season... When?

The coven is supposedly going to either purge Will of her ability to use magic or help her to use it more wisely. I dunno if this can be resolved to my satisfaction, they kinda dropped the ball on Willow last season, IMO.

In what ways do you think they went wrong with Willow? I personally thought theat the magic/drugs part was a little on the odd side. It just didn't seem to meld well with the series.

Exactly. I moaned out loud when I found out what angle they were taking it. If they did that to make us feel sorry for her rather than not like her, they didn't need to do it that way. She's been known to make poor judgement calls all series long, and this was a big one that swept her up and consumed her, but they didn't need to equate it to drug addiction so bluntly. It smacks of an after-school special...well, it did at first and then ended a little differently than I thought it would...

Will's my fav, I take all changes to her character personally. :p

Humor. I just hope they can find some of the lightheartedness that made the show what it is. Buffy has been in a dark emotional funk for toooooooooooooooo long. I am hoping they cleaned everything up last season and will start with some new light hearted character developement.

This upcoming season does sound better than the last.

I'm pretty sure there will be some angst heading Willow's way after skinning Warren and nearly destroying the world. I hope it won't be as bad as Buffy's post-resurrection funk which took up the entiriety of season 6 - heck, I think the last truly light-hearted episode was Triangle (featuring Kubiac as Olaf the Troll). Some people would say that Gone (Invisi-Buffy) in season 6 is pretty light-hearted, but remember that Buffy is pretty near suicidal in it (when told that the invisibility ray might kill her, she seems resigned to that fate). I would probably classify "I was made to love you" as light-hearted too, if it wasn't for the last minute, where Buffy comes home to a nasty surprise...

Two of the things that I've heard:

1. Willow is in England with Giles as part of her dealing with the repercusions of last season (what that means specifically, I don't know).

2. Giles will be in 10 episodes next season.

From Sci-Fi Weekly:

"...In a series of possible spoilers for the upcoming season, Whedon said in an interview to expect the return of Glory, the god played by Claire Kramer who was apparently killed at the end of season five; Warren (Adam Busch), the evil geek killed by Willow in last season's finale; and possibly Faith (Eliza Dushku), the bad-girl Slayer last seen a few season back on Angel. "

Elsewhere, they noted a report fromTV Guide Online:
"...George Hertzberg (Adam) will reappear, along with other familiar villains from the past, "for a very particular reason that I will not explain to you," Whedon told the site."

[minor spoiler warning!]

There'll be a character we haven't seen in a while returning. Eliza Dushku, who plays Faith, has signed on for 5 episodes in the next season of Buffy, and three episodes of Angel...

And by virtue of this alone, the new season has leapfrogged the last 2 or 3 seasons for me...

In a perfect world, I'd be watching a Faith spin-off...

A lack of the witty, one-liner spewing Xander is one of the reasons for the lack of humor in the show. In the past, he was the tension-breaker, even in the agnst-filled epsiodes. He's lost his flair since getting together with Anya and becoming the straight man for her "blunt-statement" jokes. And ever since the cancelled wedding, he's been nothing but Sir Mopes-a-lot. Quite irritating.

So, I cast my vote for more witty rejoinders from Xander and Buffy in season 7.

I'm happy to hear Faith's coming back. What happens to her will likely have a lot of affect on my eventual BtVS RPG game...

Bleh. No, thank you. Faith tortured a man (Wesley, to be exact), because it was fun. She is damaged goods, in the worst way. Redeeming her wil take a lot more than a voluntary stay in jail.

It's quite possible that Faith is coming back to die. The line of Slayers passes through her, now....
