Dawn becoming the next Slayer? Funny, I came up with that idea over a year ago, but my friends shot it down. Dawn the Vampire Slayer just doesn't have that ring to it though...I wonder if that would make her the first non-human Slayer? Can a non-human become a Slayer?
Evidence for the Dawn-as-Slayer theory (one of my pet Buffy theories for a long time)(Spoilers Included) :

1. If, due to the method of her creation, her being the key makes Buffy also the key, slayerness might pass through the bond as well. If she were to have slayer powers because of that, they would be starting to develop around this season, as she is now the right age for them to start manifesting.
2. In the season finale of S6, after Buffy finally lets Dawn fight (and she does pretty well for someone with absolutely no training , fighting monsters for the first time), Buffy starts crying and seems to have some kind of flash realizations, and she says "I have seen the woman that you will become...And you will be powerful...I have so much to show you."
3.It is confirmed that in S7, Buffy will teach Dawn how to fight, and she will become a full-time Scooby. It is also confirmed that, along with friends Kit and Carlos, she will lead a new generation of Scoobies at the newly-rebuilt Sunnydale High nicknamed (not sure if on the show, maybe just by those who talk about it) the "Scrappy Gang" (After the bizarro Scooby gang in the original cartoon)
4. Less important, but some foreshadowing about her following Buffy's path: Compare the incident with Justin to Buffy and Angel (esp when Dawn kills Justin to when Buffy sends Angel to hell). Also when Dawn goes and takes the eggs from that monster while spike fights it, hew refers to her as a "Bitty Buffy."
5. Some who follow the Dawn as Slayer theory tie it to the Spike as Watcher theory. Considering Spikes recent acquisition of a soul and the nature of their relationship up until now, the two certainly seem to come together.
6. THIS IS MORE SPECULATIVE: Perhaps the inclusion of Faith means that Dawn will find out that she is next in line, and then plot to kill Faith for her power. Being that Dawn is somewhat morally ambiguous and prone to extreme ideas, its possible that she will rationalize this power grab by using Faith's past actions as an excuse.
