GR's advanced books look classic :-) i think i might get one of them for a close friend who has been gaming a lot longer than i have, he'd probably like the artwork and style.

the bestiary looks nice, i always thought templates were a great way to go.

I see it's availble for preorders on the WW website. Still no preview or ToC yet, though. I'm interested, but I'd like to have an idea of what's in it.

Pre-Order? That's funny it's actually on the shelves at the Strategist here in NY. Flipped through it a little bit seems like something I mightt have wanted if I didnt already have Unearthed Arcana. If it hits a bookstore like Barnes & Nobles I'll sit down with it and go through it.

I am particularly interested in what they mean by geomancy to cast spells. Are they talking about a ley line system of power?

I already have Unearthed Arcana, but it just isn't enough. Interesting, but not particularly inspiring. Between this book and GR's version I am hoping for much more.

I saw it today and wasn't very impressed with the subjects covered. I didn't have time for a thorough look, but there were ten extra levels of each class (not compatible with epic levels), some new prestige classes (of course), some new magic systems (which I don't find nearly as useful as something modular that lets me build my own magic system), and some other stuff. The look is superbly like 2nd edition with better art. All of the layout and artwork is nice, though the cover art doesn't have enough yellow to be from the 2nd edition cover artist.
All in all, I'll wait for GR. I've never been unhappy with one of their books.

I picked up this book today ( SSS's Advanced Player Guide ) and would be glad to answer questions. I haven't read it yet ( just glanced through a bit ), so I can't offer any informed opinions yet. Yes, this book is firmly in the Unearthed Arcana, Occult Lore ( ATLAS )vein. 200 Pages - large type. Lotsa White Space...
