S1: The Strange Case of Aif Jenkins' Farm (E13 judge) - Concluded

Father Eusebius looks around. "Where is Jenkins?" he asks.

"If he knows his way around, and if we can trust him to disarm any traps there may be, that would be a help to us."

Aif Jenkins has not entered the underground complex. Last the group saw him he was inspecting the dead bodies on the top of the hill with his men. This was actually only about a minute ago, as the party has been in constant combat since then. Perhaps he's afraid to approach the hut as there are at least two archers hidden in the woods outside.

"Perhaps someone should go fetch him then, if he is not a pin cushion already," Juliana says.

OOC: Is Jules responsible for about half of those orcs? Feels like it almost.

After a brief pause, Banion points out that the person or persons who fetch Jenkins ought to include some people known to him.

The halfling soulknife will fade into the shadows while the group decides what to do next.

[sblock=OOC]What's Louie? A bat? If so, he could fly out and reconnoitre in the darkness.[/sblock]

ooc: Yes, he's a bat. Of course, bat's don't get the blindsight you'd expect in 3.5... so Louie's as "blind as a bat", unless the DM wishes to use rule 0! Silly game balance!

Beamer's adrenaline has finally slowed and he slumps around the arrow wound in his side. "I'm the slowest afoot in the best of circumstances and I fear another arrow would surely get the best of me. I could send Louie out to try to find him, but Loiue isn't going to convince him to brave those archers. Let's run back to the entrance to see what's keeping Aif."

OOC: If I remember correctly, the top of the hill should be visible from inside the hut. Louie does have low-light vision, which is probably good enough outside the cave.

Louie can 'see' fine in the dark. But to see back up the hill, the party would have to leave the hut, and potentially be targets of the archers, if they're still there.

"Juliana, if you and I go we have the best hope of avoiding the waiting archers - you because of your armour and me because I have some skills at dodging arrows. If Louie were to come with us, he could relay his impressions to you, couldn't he Beamer? Then Boog, if you have another of those handy communication powers up your sleeve, Beamer could let us know what Louie sees."

The priest nods, happy to have found a potential way forward. He waits for the others to comment.
