S1: The Strange Case of Aif Jenkins' Farm (E13 judge) - Concluded

'Good, Banion, fall back with me. You're in the best shape to hold them off. Boog, Father, Beamer, Run.'

OOC: I'll wait for her action because she's low on the initiative.

Having been instructed to fall back and hold off the enemy, Banion will change his action. He'll move into the hallway to the North and ready an action to attack defensively against any foe coming within melee range.

Round 3 (con't)
Beamer lifts his wand and fires out a stream of fire, enveloping the hapless ogre and leaving him badly singed.

The lion shifts and attacks Boog. Both claws rip deep into the elan's skin (21 pts dmg total). Boog goes down.

Neither the fiendish woman nor the monk leader returns to the fray at this point. Both are effectively invisible behind all their minions.

Banion retreats and readies himself to cover a retreat (or could change his action if he wants)
Round 3 status:
Init order:
Ogre (4 pts str lost/27 pts dmg taken)
archers (4 & 5) (one injured from earlier combat)
Monks (1,2 & 3) (1 & 2 blind)
Beamer (11/17)
Mano (blind)
EE (11 dmg taken)
Lion (10 dmg taken)
Boog (-4/29) (loaded crossbow on floor)<--
Banion (32/40) (mind blade manifested & charged)
Juliana (5/45)
Eusebius (4/37, mage armor)

Banion, seeing Boog fall, changes his mind at the last moment. There's no way his friends will survive long enough for him to hold off the enemy if he doesn't do something right now!

He hurls his mindblade at the Ogre.

ooc: Attack 18, 7 Damage from prior post, as I believe the Ogre is within 30'.

Getting into position should only be a 5' step to the west, allowing Banion to immediately re-manifest his mindblade.

ooc: By the way, is Boog out of power points? If not, surely he would use Elan Resilience to avoid some of that damage?

Yeah. I think EL Jefe has a plan for Boog stepping up to the lion like that. Let's see what he has to say before we go any further...

OOC: Once you figure out what's up with Banion and Boog, if you could update the map I'd appreciate it. It will effect what Juliana's action is.

OoC: Precisely. Spend 3 PP, that takes off 6 damage. So Boog take 15, which puts him at 2 hp. That's an immediate action. Next turn, he'll manifest Hostile Empathic Transfer while taking a 5' step back from the lion. 13/34 PP, 2/29 hp this turn, 8/34 PP next turn.

OOC: Just to summarize: Boog is lower in the initiative order than the lion. In round #2, Boog slices the lion, which has just come near to gutting Eusebius. In round #3, the lion retaliates by attacking Boog and doing copious amounts of damage. Boog, as an immediate action, heals enough of that damage to remain standing. So, then, the rest of Boog's round#3 action is to take a five foot step back and manifest Hostile Empathic Transfer, readying a touch attack against the lion.

OK up to here?

Now, the lion still acts before Boog, which means, I guess, that it can attack him in round #4. But he's readied an attack, so that if he manages a touch against it, it'll take whatever damage Boog's suffered up 'til now.

So, does this tally with other people's reading of it?

If so, then did Boog reinstate the Mindlink? And is there any chance he can share any of this with Eusebius? Because that'll effect the way that E responds at the moment.

Just so you know, if Boog gives any indication that he's on top of it (or maybe even if he doesn't, since Eusebius has seen this party trick of Boog's before), E will stay where he is and use the wand to cast another CLW on himself.

OOC: Actualy, I read it as he does the touch attack and then steps back. I certaintly hope so, so we can finish withdawing, we're waiting on him and you to help withdraw. And yes, he did reinstate the mindlink.
