S2: War in Vastermarch - Completed

Ogrin looks funnily at Talbin. "Did you catch one on the head as well? I'm Ogrin, not Razh. Nah, just kiddin'... You'll be fine." He pats Talbin on the shoulder, then turns back towards the gates. "Right. Let's see what we got here, then. I suggest we try the gates. Seems to have worked for the orcs."

Talbin accepts the potion form Razh "Why thank you" and after dirnking it he adds "That feels much better!"
OOC: Ogrin gave Talbin the potion, not Rasereit. =)

Rasereit sneaks up to the gate as quickly and quietly as he can and takes a peek inside. He also glances into the pits, to see if there's anything of interest in them. (Darkvision)

Nodis goes with the others. "Another fort I'll invade. But these orcs aren't as fun as the zombies." says Nodis as he walks.

The party closes on the fort. As they get closer, they can see that a building or tent of some sort is burning inside the fort. Above the gate, an orc is visible fighting a soldier. Several dead orcs a scattered about the ground outside the gate, and several more bodies are splayed on the ground inside the fort near the gate. Two humanoid figures are visible walking towards the gate from inside, though its not clear who they are. They are likely to see Razh & Nodis walking towards them. One of them holds a greatsword, the other a bow.

Razh, actually, with his darkvision and racial familiarity, can tell that the two figures are orcs.

The green part of the map is a ditch with scattered sharpened wooden stakes, about 5 feet deep. The long lines indicate the hill height. Ogrin is about 5 feet lower than the base of the fort, Talbin about 10 feet.

Rasereit whispers to Nodis and Ogrin, "Oi, guess what: Orcs." With a grin, he dashes into the fort, axe raised, but silent. At the end of his charge stands an orc. Rasereit's axe comes crashing down on the creature, and it falls to the ground with a soft clump. (12 damage)

Preference on the orc with a bow, but I'll take whatever I can get with the charge. This is assuming he even has a straight line with the gate in the way. If not, he'll just move 30' and attack, same rolls, -2 to atk roll (27).

With only two orcs, Nodis doesn't see he point on exhausting himself. He allows the rest of the party to move past him.

ooc: Delay action

"Nodis, Talbin; see if you can help that soldier on the wall from the outside. We'll clear the gate."

Ogrin, slightly slower than his dwarven comrade, runs towards the figures his friend identified as orcs, blades ready.

[sblock=OOC]It almost looks as if there's a straight line towards o4; in that case, a charge should work. If that's not possible, just a double move towards them to get inside the gate.

Rolls: Potential charge against o4. (1d20+7+2=13, 1d6+3=8)

Razh moves in and strikes down the orc with the bow, who is armed and armored similarly to the ones in town.

The other orc wears a humanoid skull over his head as a helmet, and has several pairs of manacles hanging off his belt. He's dressed in studded leather armor, under a blood-red tunic. He retreats (withdrawl action) as he sees the party approaching fearlessly, shouting in orcish as he runs. He disapears from sight of everyone, running to the North of the burning tent behind him.

Those who understand orc (anyone?): [sblock]"Dwarven warriors! Persuader! To the gates![/sblock]

Ogrin rushes up next to Razh. The heat and smoke from the buring tent stings their eyes and heats their faces. They can see another orc, armed with a falchion, about 25 feet NW by a stairway leading up to the platform over the gate. No other enemies are immediately visible.

This orc, seeing the other flee, turns and dashes after him.

Rasereit dislodges his axe from the chest of the fallen orc and throws a harsh whisper to those behind him. "Leader ahead, Ah think. In red, skull on his 'ead."

I'll wait for Talbin's action before I post mine.
